We survived the road to Hana!
Heavenly came to pick us up at our resort at 6 a.m. to kick off our day! We were welcomed with great warmth and friendliness. The moment she arrived, we truly felt like we were part of the ohana!
Heavenly was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, ensuring that everyone in the van began the day on a positive note. During our journey to the first "pre-stop," we quickly introduced ourselves, enjoying a breakfast sandwich in Island Fresh Cafe in Paia, a locally owned establishment for coffee and to take a restroom break. This facilitated a comfortable and enjoyable way to break the ice.
During the drive, Heavenly shared insightful background information about the flat stretches of dry land we observed and the important note that many of the environmental challenges faced by Maui are closely related to the rise and fall of sugarcane plantations.
Heavenly possesses a humble demeanor, yet her kindness shines brightly. Her primary focus is ensuring safety above all else. She provides thorough explanations about the island and has a deep understanding of its culture. Her sweet and gentle nature is truly commendable. She readily answered all our inquiries, demonstrating her extensive knowledge about the island.
The journey didn't feel as lengthy as it was since the tour guide was so amazing, knowledgable, and accommodating, plus her fantastic driving, complete with dangerous twists and pit stops, deserves special recognition, which definitely contributed to the whole experience!
We would like to award her a five-star rating for her exceptional friendliness, generous spirit, and her commitment to creating a truly memorable experience for everyone...
Read moreZero stars!! This was the most HORRIBLE experience I have ever had! We had a 7am-7pm for the road to Hana in a bus with NO AIR CONDITIONING! Our guide even said he didn’t know what was wrong with the bus. How cruel of a company to not ensure the air conditioner is working on an all day trip in Hawaii!!! We were so miserable on the bus that we were pouring our water bottles on our heads just to feel the slightest bit of coolness but it was so unbearable. If our phone had service we would have paid extra to call and have an Uber pick us up instead. We are still feeling sick from the heat exhaustion we experienced and we are considering taking legal action. Beware of this horrible company. Also, our driver should have told us upfront that the air was not working instead he waited until we complained and were already on the bus. If we had known, we would have never went!
And believe the negative comments about this company. They are trying to cover up their bad reputation by lying, but the comment talking about a tour driver scraping another car is true. Our guide told us it happens a lot, and from the way he drove we believe it. They call it “just keep driving” so yeah. Your own staff totally called all of you out on driving erratically. The fact they laugh about it is criminal. It’s against the law to hit and run.
I spoke with the staff at our hotel the Hyatt which is one of the best hotels in Maui and they said we should have asked them who to book this through because they do not recommend Dynamic to anybody. And now we know why! People, ask your hotel which company you should go through they will tell you...
Read moreWe chose this tour to maximize our overnight stop in Maui while sailing on NCL's Pride of America. So glad we did!
Our tour began at the pickup stop on the Burger King lot about a 15 minute easy walk from the ship. There we met our driver and guide, Christie, who was phenomenal! She provided an overview of our day and a very simple ice breaker to help us meet our group of 9, yes only 9 people who were part of our tour ohana. There was a centrally located map easily readable from every seat in the comfortable tour van and all you can drink bottled water, ice cold, in the cooler.
We left the meeting point and turned on to the Hana Highway. Spectacular views were all around us immediately and lasted the entire TEN hours.
There were stops along the way for picture taking, swimming in a waterfall and a black sand beach, shopping at small locally owned craft shops, and singing to well known Hawaiian themed songs .
We ate a simple lunch of sandwiches and chips at a picturesque state park. Be sure to visit the lava tube cave after you eat!
Bathroom breaks were well planned.
Be on the lookout for lots of wildlife along the way, especially on the "back" part of the FULL CIRCLE, which sometimes felt like an Indiana Jones road adventure of it's own! Chee-hoo!!
We found this full circle Hana Highway tour to be an excellent value and a wonderful way to see the north, east, and south sides of the...
