Walked into this quaint little shop today with items to sell. I believe Jack was the individual who went through my items, very carefully and patiently, while I looked on. I had a ring that I wasn't sure about, I even mentioned this to Jack and he brought his 'tools' over and tested it and I was extremely delighted when he stated that it was platinum as I wasn't sure. He could have told me it was aluminum and I wouldn't have known the difference. I've been to other shops where they try to rip you off, but the knowledge, customer care and comfort I encountered here was 2nd to none. I will return to this shop again. I can't remember the name of the young lady who completed my transaction, but she too was a delight. Friendly and quite efficient at her job. Thank you for a wonderful experience as I always dread going to these shops to do business. You folks are tops in my book.
Went back to this shop today and learned that it was Gordon, not Jack, that I dealt with. Sorry about that fellows. I had the pleasure of dealing with Jack today and I was just as delighted with Jack as I was with Gordon. The time spent here today was just as pleasurable as yesterday. Both men are incredibly knowledgeable about their business and quite pleasant with a truly terrific sense of humor which I enjoyed very much. I also learned the name of the young lady with whom I dealt yesterday, Anabelle, hope I spelled that correctly. Anyway, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to return to this shop and I would recommend this establishment to anyone who is looking for top notch service, integrity and honesty. Thanks to Gordon, Jack and Anabelle for a truly wonderful experience. One final note, this shop is filled with the most wonderful antiques, you should really...
Read moreJack is a kind, fair, good man! I can't say enough positive things about his character! We had to empty my mother's house in mid-March as the pandemic was descending.... He was so kind in recognizing the stress we were under and of course managing his own as he faced a reduced staff ... My mother was a collectibles dealer so he spent days in the house removing what he was able.... Things that we asked to keep in advance because they were of value as family heirlooms (our grandmother was a painter), he had the utmost respect for, but even as he worked in the house and we were there also working, he stepped in and encouraged us to keep some sketches our Grandmother had made that we had originally agreed to give him .... Not to say it would have been ok for us to take things back - we had an agreement, so we were respectful in recognizing that he was entitled to what he had bought from us.... But he was fair and compassionate, and kind.... And we were most grateful that he stuck with his end of the deal as the world began to fall apart around us. My sister and I feel very lucky to have met him and worked with him. I will certainly recommend him to others and call him if I need to sell more...
Read moreAs we marched into NJ Antique Buyers for our scheduled appointment with "Jack," we sheepishly looked at one another with our bag of trinkets, wishing we knew more about what it was that was in our possession. It's a bit intimidating. Jack and Gordon are cheerful and honest professionals, one can instantly tell they're doing what they love. They carefully and thoughtfully inspected each trinket, testing for gold as they went along, and shared with us the history of each object. We respected their candor when they announced they were not sure of something. We watched as a steady stream of customers walked into their small, easy to find store, some selling and some buying. Jack and Gordon made us feel welcomed, important and they did not hurriedly rush through the unknown treasures. We will return to NJ Antique Buyers once we have a family consensus as to...
