Disgusting salon even nastier owner. I called on Thursday to inquire about full head highlights for my son. I told the receptionist I I saw online that I could book two hours with Amanda for around $170. Perfect. But when I called, the receptionist told me not to book online—she said she’d set it up herself, do a quick consult prior, and block off two hours for the actual service. Sounded fine at the time. Amanda even texted me to come in earlier so we could do the service which was HILLARIOUS now that i look back …. fast forward to the day of the appointment: I check my email and see they changed the consult to a stylist in training just ten minutes before I got there. No call, no heads-up…. I was already in a parking spot i thought it was an error since no one called me. I walk in and Amanda is busy doing a consult on someone else….. Cool. Meanwhile, they have my kid sitting in the chair while I’m standing there confused, only to be told they don’t even have time to do the service that day.

So I ask—why did the receptionist stop me from booking online if you weren’t going to honor the time? Why tell me one thing over the phone just to switch everything last minute? And instead of apologizing or fixing it, the owner comes out and starts getting absolutely nasty and arguing with me—in front of my kid whos 10 and just clueless. She even said the only thing they had time for was a quick dark brown set of highlights, after telling me 5 mins prior there was no time at all for any service. We stood there back and forth because then the owner asked me to show her where on her website can book services…. You dont know your own website? We reallly went back and forth in front of my kid.

It was unprofessional, disrespectful, and a total waste of time. I ended up leaving because I wasn’t about to sit there and argue in a dirty, run-down salon while they made excuses. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere in Bergen County where they actually respect their clients’ time and money...

I received a hair cut and tone by Liz, who was amazing! I knew I had wavy hair prior to my appointment, and wanted a new alternative hair cut. Liz is an expert in curly hair and completely blew me away! I came in with frizzy flat waves, and left with beautiful voluminous soft curls NATURALLY. Not to mention a perfect haircut that matched my inspo. I told Liz I had no idea my hair could look like this, but she knew my hair’s true potential and then some! I looked around for an alternative hairstylist for a while, and I’m glad I could find one that was nearby. For the toner, I wanted a non- permanent solution to some uneven and brassy color I had in my hair from a prior stylist, while my natural hair grew in. Liz color matched to my natural hair beautifully and now I have a seamless blend and tone. Besides her artwork of hair cuts and color, Liz was a pleasure to be with. From booking and sending hair inspo, to being in the chair, to leaving the salon, she was lovely and helpful. I felt like I was comfortably chatting with a friend the whole time, and normally I’m quiet in the chair lol. She is also an educator and loves sharing her knowledge. I loved how Liz explained what she was doing, debunked myths I’ve heard online with new tips, and taught me how to really care for my curls. I left with a new and improved curly hair routine that is working 10x better for me, since Liz knew exactly what my type of hair needed. I appreciate how she asked questions to really tailor her work and my new routine to my hair type and what I was looking for. I cannot praise her enough. Highly recommend Kelly and Vania at this salon. I was referred here by a friend after moving to NJ a few weeks ago. These stylists are more like Hair Doctors. They don't just cut and color your hair, but they give you the education and information you need to make your hair healthy. I was brought in initially for a consultation, but after the consulation, Vania, Sophia and Kelly fit me into the schedule for that day (basically taking over Kelly's entire day). I was extremely appreciative of this since I had driven 45 minutes to get there and my birthday was a few days away. They ordered lunch for me while my color was processing, made sure I was comfortable, offered me water, coffee and wine. The salon is clean and everyone is kind and helpful. It feels like a family there. My reason for 4/5 was that when I initially got there, I felt like I was receiving a lot of negatives towards my hair, it was too dry, the color was bad, they couldn't do the color I wanted, it was going to take hours and cost a lot of money, etc etc. But after talking with Vania a little more, we mutually came up with a plan together. The color isn't exactly how I wanted it done, but it looks 100000% better than it did when I walked in, and it looks great. In addition, they accommodated my budget and gave me recommendations and suggestions for home hair care that catered to me individually based on my budget and hair needs. I can't wait to go back to see...
