My mom and I had a horrible experience there today. I am absolutely ashamed at the lack of customer service skills at this store. Honestly, being treated like you are a peasant by the associates makes me want to stick to online shopping. I brought my mom there today so she could spend a gift card and so that I could buy her a Mother's Day gift, and the treatment was just ridiculous. Normally, the staff is semi-friendly, but today it was a completely different experience. Multiple associates circled us like hawks and badgered us multiple times asking if they could help us with anything. I appreciate the interest, but when someone is constantly breathing down your neck, it becomes unnecessary. My mom wanted to purchase a blush brush, and the woman made a nasty comment towards her when she opened the drawer. She didn't know that she wasn't supposed to open the drawer and the woman treated her like she was a 5 year old over an honest mistake. The drawer was open so my mom just took a look and this woman acted like she had personally attacked her. She could have just kindly asked her to stop, but no. Then, both of us went over to the skincare area, and a man who was dressed like he was guarding the Pentagon asked us multiple questions. It was really odd. As we approached the Juice Beauty Section, an obnoxious woman came up to us and began hounding us about the products like we had never seen a moisturizer. My mom said to her, "Oh no thank you, we are just looking," and as we began to walk away, the woman says in a snide voice, "Oh well excuse me, I didn't mean to scare you away." I swear, after this I was just about ready to put back our products and leave, but we were trying to have an enjoyable mother-daughter experience so we just brushed it off. We wound up with a decent amount of products in the end, and got use out of the gift card. The only normal person working there was the cashier who was quite kind. We will not be returning there in the future. Sephora will always be my go-to. If this store plans on continuing to make money, they best hire some sensible associates who can learn how to get off their high horses and act empathetic to their customers. I'm disgusted by the snotty attitudes of some of...
Read moreFor the hairdresser, I give her a 4 for taking me in for my cut. I had gotten there and another hairdresser took me and told me that my Initial hairdresser was still working on someone else and that she would take me. Fine. The lady with red hair washed my hair and we start speaking prices and I had told her that it was 50 something for my cut and treatment and she stated that she was a prestige stylist and her prices were basically $20 more than initially spoken of through the phone. I had told her that it was outrageous to not call me beforehand or tell me when I got there about my options. I understand sometimes stylists get backed up, but the fact that nobody told me and waited until my hair was being washed to tell me it was more. Long story short, the girl I initially booked with took me in. I had went in with my dog and friend and she was with my dog while I was getting my cut and yes my dog is a Velcro dog and he gets seperation anxiety, my friend took him to a corner and let him relax which he WAS. But, some manager looking like pink cotton candy with long green nails and sunglasses kept looking at my friend and making her feel uncomfortable while she was in her corner with my dog relaxed, kept staring with another blond big manager and looking my way as I’m cutting my hair. Kept on asking my friend what was wrong with my dog and interrogating her while she was in her corner with my RELAXED dog reading a book and kept berating her which made my dog restless. It’s crazy, we both used to work at this location and we are regular Ulta customers so it’s wild that before christmas, these managers behave this way. I have nothing bad to say about the lady that did my hair but management do better please.
In response to Ulta, I did. I asked the price of said stylist and it’s the bad communication with YOUR staff that they didn’t call me and inform me before. They decided to tell me when they were already washing my hair and that gave me the impression like they were trying to stick me with the higher price. Don’t...
Read moreI normally don’t do many reviews, but I felt the need to today. Went to Ulta for a quick foundation/concealer buy. The minute you walk in you’re greeted by like one worker from the cashier and then two more workers asking if you need anything or any help that they are happy to help. I said thank you, I will let you know, we are looking for now.
As I’m by the foundations with my nieces and little son, again, another young lady asks if we need help. Felt kind of intrusive since we had about 3 minutes in the store, but fine. She helped color match the products we needed and that was great.
I continue to notice that anywhere we went, the workers were around and just like putting back anything that was touched. It just felt uncomfortable - like we were being tracked and hawked. We move to the other side of the store and AGAIN, I notice another girl from the cashier organize the mascaras where my niece has just looked at one and placed it back. She went to “organize” that area right next to where we were.
At that point, I was so irritated I called my other niece who was getting another concealer to hurry up because I wanted to pay and leave. Like the entire experience was SO uncomfortable. The girl that helped us wasn’t the kindest either, but she matched us well so I was like whatever fine lol. But she wasn’t the kindest which I would expect considering the amount space they give you to shop, which is close to none since they are up your you know what the entire time.
I am highly aware of my behavior in public because of course people racially profile so my family and I are always extra well behaved and poised but these employees have no idea how to be more subtle and also how to not organize or be up in your area each time you move & this is coming from a person that does not pull the victim card.
It’s invasive and uncomfortable, I will not be coming back unless I have no choice and really need something.
I would much rather go to Sephora in GSP, where the employees do not treat their...
