Kaboom Comics & Collectibles — Attraction in McAllen

I am mom and my son is so excited about Pokémon. I am not very familiar with the card game or history. That being said, I am super thankful to have found this place. I dont even know where to start. Okay, first the staff is so friendly and they focus on helping me and my son. And by that, I mean I ask so many questions. They have helped me tremendously. But as a parent of a child, the best thing is that they answered my son's questions and just like his mom. He has lots of questions. They have been helpful, knowledgeable and patient with us. They are the only place I have found near me that sells Pokemon cards. I mean, I searched stores okay. I can at least call this place and ask if they have some. My son keeps asking for more. Anyways, the other thing I really like about this place is that every time I go, the tables are clean and they have hand sanitizers everywhere. That is a big plus! I also seen a lot of people play card games in the tables. They look really focus and having fun. Oh, and the place where we usually go is the back building. I do want to mentioned that there is limited parking space. But other than that, I am very happy with this place. Now, my only question is if they can teach my son and I play the Pokémon game :D Again, I have no idea, but I am starting to get a liking...

Im ok with the store but it’s the second time I’ve had to just basically come back for something very simple i live farther from the store now so it’s a bit annoying having to just keep coming back when possible the transaction felt a bit rushed even with tradeins it basically felt like “just go buy items somewhere else “ I’m ok with losing some value of my items but the overall experience highly influences my purchases it’s the reason why I spend 500 + in other locations I already purchased the same item the whole set actually just wanted one to mess around with and open I brought enough items that are pretty much good in trade in value even with trade in credit I don’t mind posting them elsewhere for sell and just spending my money elsewhere even if I pay some cash it’s fine but not worth the effort hopefully the review helps create better experiences for others

I’ve been coming here for some years now and one thing I can confidently say is that regardless of whether it’s your first time at this comic book store or your millionth, you will ALWAYS feel welcomed and helped by the friendly staff this location has. There’s a lot to see here, from comics, to merch, to Funko’s, games, incredible statues, and action figures. Oh, and they take trade-ins for store credit and cash when able. Just talk to Isaac he is very knowledgeable, friendly and always gives you a fair deal. Let's support our local comic book stores! In the Valley we are blessed to have several comics shops to visit, but what sets Kaboom on top of its competitors is the awesome staff.
