This is the 4th time to La Justica - 2 last winter and 2 this winter. I have posted good reviews previously but today the place was a disaster. We would be better off going to a chain Mexican fast food restaurant. The tables were all dirty, the floors were greasy-slippery, there was no happy hour as advertised on their sign because there was no beer at all, or margaritas and nothing but water or soda. The only thing good was the cheese/pico de Gallo appetizer. For the entres they did not have any ground beef for those items that required it! I had the enchiladas chicken/cheese rosa (tomato sauce) with refried beans, rice, and chopped salad. It was absolutely cold so I asked for it to be microwaved and it came back barely warmer, the rice and enchiladas were dry and flavorless. My wife had the combo plate which though slightly warmer was also dry and tasteless. Neither of us finished - it was really, really bad! We asked the waitress if the cook was new or different and if the place was going to close down (it should) but she said no. Don't know why it was so different - sorry to say that despite the 3 previous good times we will absolutely never be back as there are so, so many good Mexican restaurants in the McAllen area. We were so glad that we did not invite friends to join us as we would have been so sorry and...

I've eaten at Justicia before covid and I remember the food being really tasty. So this is post covid and the food was more of a 2-star experience. I used a Groupon this time and ordered it to go....

Fairly simple order... enchiladas verdes and the fajitas. My wife said the fajita was good.. nothing over the top but good. She said the same for the rice and beans.

I had the enchiladas verdes and I was a little disappointed. I love enchiladas verdes with a tomatillo base...I didn't taste that tangy, slightly sour taste of them (maybe needed more salt?) Plus, the bottom of the enchiladas were so soggy they would simply break apart when I would pick them up with a fork. The filling was shredded chicken which is a bad idea because those release more water which combined with the salsa added up to soggy enchiladas. Granted....I did take out...maybe eaten right when made they would've been better? I don't know...but the texture was very soggy.

Overall decent place...prices are good...food might be hit or miss...and if you're doing enchiladas...

I placed an order over the phone and when I got there they said it still wasn’t ready to have a seat. I over heard a lady complaining that their food was taking too long to come out and they were on their lunch break...well about 5 minutes later that table got their food...ate and got ready to pay and I still had not gotten my food that I ordered over the phone!! Not only that but it was caldo that means the food was already made they just had to put it in a container and give it to me. Never going back there again then the guy giving me my order looks upset because I kept asking how much longer it was going to take to give me my order 🙄...the food wasn’t anything special either. The rice...

The tortillas were really good. The restaurant felt musky, the chicken tlapeno was okay. It was extremely greasy and came as pictured. A total mess all over both dishes. The chorizo and queso was good with flour tortillas. That dish I expected it to be greasy so there was no biggy, but I have never had greasy tlapeno soup served like that. There was also no chile in it so it is not like as advertised. The service was okay. The place was very short staffed but everyone tried the best that they could. Prices were fair. Tea is not freshly brewed but it doesn't taste too bad. I might go back to try their breakfast because I really liked the tortillas. Overall 3 out of 5.

The huevos rancheros here are okay, for $8.99 you get 3 eggs, potatoes, refried beans and bacon. The eggs were perfectly cooked over medium, the salsa for the eggs is good, the refried beans in my last visit were old, the bacon was just okay , the potatoes didn't have a great taste to them as they are soggy, and have no flavor. While you wait they bring you chips and hot salsa(as in warm salsa). The coffee here is hot and good tasting. Overall, in my recent visits not much has been improved and the food is just okay, the quality has definitely dropped.
