Took a class here a while back. Some of the classes say "beginner friendly" or don't have any kind of labeling to the skill level, don't make the mistake I did and take it. Adam (the teacher) was using terminology I've never heard of, never explained them once until after I asked once his hour long instruction was finished. I told him every single class I had little experience, and he seemed suprised every time, since I had to reiterate this when I kept asking questions. He didn't follow the syllabus he gave us whatsoever. Most of Adam's time is spent with a group of people that seem to take a lot of his classes, so students that already know what they're doing. He will converse with them as friends the entire class and I feel like I have to pull his teeth to recieve any kind of help myself. He didn't list what needed to brought to the class, and proceeded to seem suprised when nobody had what they needed other than the group that knows what to expect. Most of the tools around the studio like the extruder are always filled with old clay and not cleaned out. The slab roller is not properly used either since all of the mats have dark clay stains, even the ones labeled for the light colors. So when I wanted to use it, my pieces always had bits of other kinds of clay in it. Let alone he kept usikg a speaker that was playing music right beside him while he spoke so it was hard to understand/listen at times. I would never recommend Adam's classes to anyone, maybe if there were classes hosted by someone else I would consider taking one here again. What I had to fight to learn was not...
Read moreThank you Glaze Ceramics- we just had an unforgettable experience at your studio. I’m our Scout troop’s pottery merit badge counsellor and reached out to Adam a few weeks back to ask for help on certain requirements in the merit badge- which brought 3 leaders and 7 scouts to Glaze Studios today. Not only is their venue beautiful, but Adam was a natural teacher with the scouts. He explained and showed us examples of the different clays and kilns used and demonstrated how to throw a form on the wheel. He supported us as we all tried our hand at it. We learnt so much whilst having the best time as well. I can’t wait to see the finished product and for my next group of scouts to sign up so that we can go back again! I highly recommend this beautiful and...
Read moreThis place is excellent! I wish I lived closer because I would be there 24/7!
My wife and I took a class from Adam, and I was so grateful for the ways in which he accommodated the instruction for our level of understanding. He taught with patience and enthusiasm, and even customized the session to fit the goals we hoped to achieve!
If you’re thinking of doing this as a date night or anniversary celebration (or for really any occasion), I would highly recommend contacting them and signing up for something!
The only issue we had was trying to decide from the ridiculously amazing selection of customized glazes they had on hand! I could’ve stayed...
