The McKinney Cotton Mill — Attraction in McKinney

I got married here in October of 2021. My husband and I toured this place once and immediately made the decision that this was THE VENUE. We didn’t even bother to look at any other venues. During our booking process, we worked with Krista, who expressed that we could put a hold on our date for 30 days while we talked it over with our families. She answered any and all of my questions, sometimes the same question multiple times, with that being said she was extremely patient and very encouraging. She was such a pleasure to work with, as well as, Maria who was a later add-on to the venues team. Maria was super helpful during our rehearsal, as my planner had another wedding the day of our rehearsal. She was extremely patient with all of our friends and family, as there were many moving pieces and I chose a difficult way to enter our ceremony for all of our wedding party but she accepted the challenge and actively problem solved so when the time came for the real deal, everything ran smoothly. I can’t rave enough about the staff at the venue enough, they made the day of the wedding so easy that I really I was not stressed about anything.

As for the venue, pictures do not do this place justice. Go see it in person. It is absolutely GORGEOUS. There are so many elements to the building, it’s insane. The hidden garden, the dye room, the bridal suite, the artwork, all of it. It’s amazing. There is an upstairs area that I didn’t even know existed until we took pictures after the ceremony, it’s worth going to see. This absolutely stunning venue is by far one of the best places for a wedding or special event in McKinney, or DFW in my opinion. The staff is wonderful and great to work with, they explain everything and are with you from booking until the event. The exposed brick and wood pillars give the place the perfect industrial chic feel. This space is so versatile that I feel you can create your personal wedding look with ease. My wedding was gorgeous and unique to my style. There was plenty of space for my 130 guests between the bar, dinner tables, dance floor, etc. Overall when you choose The Cotton Mill, you choose a venue support team and a beautiful place to throw your event. Words cannot attribute the amount of love I have for Erin before and especially after my wedding. Erin runs The Cotton Mills as if it was her home; she has the passion every bride imagines of finding with a coordinator. Erin is very professional, and so personable too; her passionate, funny, and endearing nature makes you fall in love with the venue more. She means business when she says she is there for her brides (and grooms) and wants them all to have the wedding of their dreams. From tips and tricks, and advice for planning, coordinating and decorating to scheduling and business matters, Erin is the woman for the job. Had our wedding here in late March 2025 and it was absolutely beautiful!! We had toured a couple places but knew almost immediately we wanted to get married here.

The site is authentic, unique and so so beautiful. Outside there is a waterfall, lots of greenery and an ivy wall! This wall sold it for us. Unfortunately, we had 2 cold bursts that winter so a late March wedding ended up with more brown than green. However, we secured a gorgeous floral arch that made our dreams come true!

The reception hall is HUGE and was recently updated with new lighting. It was a perfect dancefloor and left plenty of room for our extra activities.

Lisa, Natalie and the CN Catering team were wonderful! The food was AMAZING. We went with a more simple chicken dish and WOW it was so delicious. Not the typical dry, bland chicken you think of at weddings. But CN Catering has a tonnnn more options too. All our guests raved about the food!

The venue works with lots of different vendors which helped out a lot. I found almost all of my vendors through them. And, the venue even let us have our dog involved in our ceremony - which was such a sweet bonus on our special day!
