If anyone is crazy enough to go a gym in the era of COVID (I work in health care and saw a lot of people die in the spring and think it's a bad idea), know that the "month-to-month-no-commitment" plan is ridiculous because you need to give them 45 days notice to cancel, and you can't cancel online, and you can't call them and cancel even if you have your membership ID and multiple pieces of information to verify your identity. They want you to come in person (but they're being super generous by letting you send a letter in the era of COVID and reminded me several times during the phone conversation how generous they were being). They say this is Blink corporate policy (and not specific to Medford gym) and maybe their hands are tied, but it is 100% about taking customers' money and putting up a barrier to canceling, and not at all about serving the customer. You can get health care / health information via phone if you have two pieces of information to identify yourself You can cancel a cable subscription on the phone You can cancel internet subscription on the phone You didn't need my signature to START my membership; why should you need it to cancel it? Even if you want my signature - you could let me email you a letter with a signature, but.... nope As a health care worker who got overwhelmed during COVID and moved away from the area before I remembered to cancel my membership, I'm frustrated there are archaic, unnecessary barriers to doing so. Protect your health and your wallet, go for...

Read moreBEWARE! Cancelling is not easy and they will attempt to squeeze every last dollar out of you. If you forget to cancel when you move multiple states away and go over a year paying and not going to the gym, when you finally do cancel they still expect payment in full. You cannot cancel on the phone or email they want you to come in person. Another month or so may pass before you are finally able to go to the gym and then they expect you to pay for that month even when you tried to cancel over a month before but were not allowed because you had to physically be at the location. Other gyms would see that someone has been paying and not going and be able to work something reasonable out or at least PAUSE the membership and give the person time to travel all the way to Boston to cancel. If you go on a weekend to cancel because that’s the only time you can travel to Boston the managers conveniently do not work weekends and are not able to speak to you. The managers can only talk to you on weekdays but you live multiple states away and work weekdays so they have it set up perfectly to keep collecting money from you and waste time. Shady...
