Mena Art Gallery — Attraction in Mena

If ever you come to mina you must stop and take a look and see what local artists can do . Living in Mena for the last 15 years ,I have been in that art gallery once and boy am I sorry for that, Because tonight was the art gallery 75th anniversary. 75 years that is a long time for an art gallery in a small little town. why because they're that good I saw some extraordinary work from The Young to the older Generations. It was a great night to be had by all. But they too are feeling the pinch of the economy and have asked the community as a whole to help they have an extraordinary amount of volunteers which says a lot also it was stated tonight that the computer age is good and bad . The good it helps in selling bad is that the younger generations is losing its ability to have an imaginationly thought an be able to take that an put it to canvas or mud or snap shot being able to take whats within their head and put it out into art...

Ok.....so now serving on the Board myself, I will be a little biased. However, to have an art gallery like this in a town the size of Mena, not to mention a gallery that not only supports local artists and students, but participates in two or three national shows a year that brings in and sells art from all across the country is just phenomenal. If you live in the area or you come to visit Mena, please try to visit the gallery. Also, anyone who can, please consider making a donation to help us keep operating. The Mena Art Gallery opened in 1945 and is still going, after almost 80 years, but as everyone knows, times are tough. So, any help is always appreciated. Its closed for the day now..(open 10- 3 Wed thru Sat) and there is a number by the door you can call to get in. You must be wearing a mask..which was perfectly fine. The lady there was very friendly and helpful. They also have MUCH for sale for Christmas. I ,myself. Would love to receive ANYTHING from the Gallery!
