I’m writing to formally cancel my membership and request a refund due to an unpleasant and unprofessional experience at your workspace.
While taking a phone call in the common coworking area - a space where other members routinely take calls - a visitor aggressively confronted me, insisting that I stop speaking. The situation escalated when the visitor disrupted my call and then reported me to staff. Despite this being a shared, non-quiet area, the lady working by the counter supported the complaint and asked me to move to a phone booth instead of addressing the inappropriate behavior of the visitor.
This interaction created a hostile and uncomfortable work environment. The inconsistent enforcement of rules and lack of support from staff made it impossible for me to continue working productively.
I had to drop the call due to the constant pressure of the member who started distracting other members in his support asking “do you know him?” and making a scene after I asked him not to disturb me. I had to leave for my home office so I could continue working. Important note: it’s not a library. People talk there all the time. The staff supported an aggressive and disrespectful member who started establishing rules that are not listed anywhere and not followed by anyone in a very hostile and rude manner. Be aware around this individual, an extremely nosy and entitled visitor of the place establishing rules and asserting dominance over coworking space.
Given these circumstances, I am requesting a refund for my subscription, as I was unable to use the space in a professional and respectful atmosphere...
Read moreSpaces office is at a great location, convenient transportation( minute to 84) and walking distance to Facebook. All the facilities are well maintained, they have cleaning staffs working around the clock to make sure everything is neat and well present. It is a decent place to see clients or host meetings. In fact, numbers of business social events have been host here. It is a bonus of work at here, that you get to meet people from different fields, and get access to the latest information.
The management and staffs here are very professional and friendly. Joel is always around and actively provide assistance. He makes work at this location very convenient and wants to extend the lease. Luna, Furtuna, Joel and the rest of the team has done a great job creating an atmosphere that warms like home, and also efficient/fast speed like an office. They are not just like facility staff, but more like friends and co-workers.

Read moreSpaces is a Regus division that takes industrial space in poor locations, pretties it up, and rerents it at a substantial markup. They do a great job on decor, but in the end, you're in an industrial area near East Palo Alto, where rents are typically 1/6th the price of downtown Palo Alto, paying about the same as Palo Alto prices, when you include the price of parking at Spaces. The hidden cost of your employees driving to lunch and back every day, and commuting without Caltrain, makes it more expensive.
Other similarly-priced places to check out: the regular Regus facility in East Palo Alto, Pacific Workplaces, also in East Palo Alto, and University Ave. Professional View Offices on University Ave. in Downtown Palo Alto. Believe it or not, University Ave. Professional View Offices charges just a bit more...
