DAIRY DAY'S. Amongst the things we Idahoans know locally is Dairy Days, right next to the Meridian Speedway. The vendors are worth shopping at and are usually local. The carnival? That was expensive, with mostly rides for the little ones. I think there were a total of 3 rides this year for ages 10 & up, a glass house for all and another house for all where everything moved about. Other than that, little children were on top! With 6 rides for the younger peeps. My grandkids had fun. The ticket price went up for actual tickets verses the wrist band, but it seems more tickets were needed at the games than ever before. Just to hit the hammer down to get a prize, which everyone received, cost 10 tickets, and of course, after doing games, we were left with 8 tickets. Not enough to do anything with. The blow-up hammer for that game, which we received 3 of, had all lost their air by morning. Hopefully, I'll be able to go without kids next year and just enjoy walking around the vendor tents, wishing inflation wasn't so high so I could buy something! After getting the wristbands, buying $50 in actual tickets and high prices on food, I had nothing left to spend. The wristbands were buy one for $40, get one free. Unlimited rides. Only the rides were limited and didn't include the Bungee Jumping. That's $12 per person. This was an expensive $200 in 3 hours. By the time the kids rode everything they could ride, often twice, I was smart enough to stay clear of most vendors so not to spend anymore! That's a shame. Dairy Days are there for both play and browse. Perhaps next year...
Read moreNice little park. Not my favorite because it's placed on a busy street corner. The park is fenced in but I don't enjoy the noise from the traffic. The meridian pool is right next door though so it's nice when the kids are waiting for their siblings to be done with swim lessons to just go and play. The playground equipment is decent and there is a covered area available for reserve. The kids' favorite thing about this place is the climbing tree. There's an overgrown evergreen tree that you can find at least half a dozen kids...
Read moreEasy & accessible from Franklin Rd going east or if you're coming down Main St. going south. It's main parking lot is tiny but Storey Park shares parking with Meridian Pool as well. Overflow parking, which is sometimes pay-to-park, is available when there are larger events. Great park for all! Has a pavilion with ample seating. Restrooms just a short walk across from pavilion. We came here for Meridian Dairy Days in June and yesterday, for Meridian Monday...
