Meridian Goatstar Donuts and Coffee — Restaurant in Meridian

Im a transplant from Texas been here for 9 years now and Goatstar has something most places in Idaho doesn't have and that are Kolaches which is a regional thing to Texas and I love visiting this place to get me a Kolache. The donuts are as expected and good and the kolaches are good to. My problem and the reason for the lowish rating is the service. In recent months Ive gone in to get a jalapeno kolache and asked for it to be warmed up. She gives me a kolache and tells me its warm already. So I go out to the car and head out and its a plain Kolache and Cold.... Ive had to tell her in the past to make sure its Jalapeno and I dont care I want it warmed up, Im always given an attitude and she always acts like shes in a huge rush to push me out even when no one is in there. In anycase go for the Kolaches theyre good just make sure youre getting what you asked for, the lady is cold and inattentive though so double check your getting what...

Stopped in at Goatstar Donuts for the first time today, and purchased a maple bacon bar. Very tasty, but would have been even better if the donut was freshly made, but it was 9:45am and probably had been there for a few hours... Still, it was really good and I would order this again in an instant!

Also, the lovely woman at the counter, Moon, was very pleasant and while our conversation was short, she smiled and made me feel like she enjoyed people, which is perfect for a customer facing job. Also, she was wearing a pair of rhinestone earrings that would have been equally appropriate in the late 1800s (reminded me of the earrings my grandmother wore - in a very good way)... Nice throwback look, which complimented her style perfectly.

Okay so as far as that atmosphere goes it's a donut shop so it's fine. You can either sit down or take it home. The donuts are incredible and that's why we keep going back. I would say my only negative thing to say is it the lady that's always there helping comes off a little cold to me well I don't think she's doing it intentional I just don't get a very inviting vibe from her and sometimes she can make me feel like I need to rush when I need a minute to figure my life out even if there's nobody behind me.
