Miami Institute of Photography — Attraction in Miami

I can't praise this place enough and professor Jorge who has guided me and our class through literally having no camera experience to understanding all the fundamentals of using a dslr camera manually, different shooting techniques, and bringing out each students creative side and finding what their niche is in photography.

I have found my love for lifestyle portrait photography, while others in our class love architecture, or nature photography and we all learn together and are amazed by each other's pictures every week while we watch each other grow. I have completed Digital Photography 1 and just started Digital Photography 2. I literally went from not knowing how to work a camera to taking professional pictures in just 3 months.

Other photography classes only give you one or two day workshops which are too condensed to truly help you. Take your classes here you won't regret it. They have classes two days a week or a Sat only program. Plus random workshops on various learnings and students can always use their studio for half off as well.

Our instructor Jorge has an entire life of experience in photography, working all over the world and even overseeing the entire camera crew for the national newspaper in Venezuela.

I have now completed two courses with MIP and the experience has been so rewarding. My digital camera always intimidated me. I would take it with me on trips and I would always end up reverting back to my phone. I finally learned how to use it properly, and not only that...I learned how to take and process quality, beautiful photos that I am proud to display. Our instructor, JAC, explained and demonstrated various photographic techniques. We learned how to use the camera in low light settings without flash, how to properly use flash in a studio, how to take HDR and panorama photos, composition and so much more. Everyone that I’ve dealt with at MIP has been so accommodating, incredibly professional and very nice. I genuinely feel like you get so much more value than what you pay for the classes and I cannot say enough positive things about the school. Thankful that Miami has an institute like this. This space teaches the art of photography in an approachable way while keeping it advanced and elevated. You can feel the love and passion vibrating from the people who run the center and they translate it into their courses and into their inviting, clean and professional environment. Anybody from the novice to expert can benefit from taking a class here. I took Digital 1 and LOVED it. My eyes were opened to the art and science of photography in a way that a YouTube tutorial simply CANNOT do. Professor JAC is so sincere and talented and I am happy I got to grow my creative skill set with him. I’ll definitely be back for more of...
