Let me start by saying I called this store and a nice lady picked up the phone and was very polite and I explained my situation and she said they could help. Sounds good so far right? Pfffft. Till I got there (let me add I drove an hour). I entered the store and was greeted by the polite lady and shortly after I was getting sized up by another lady which I believed to be the boss or owner of said establishment. I then explained the situation I was in with my torn canvas art piece and would like to get it sewed together or fixed by whichever way possible. She then examined the art work itself and then examined the signature (not a known artist but is talented) after that, is when she examined the tear. This is a fairly large piece at 40x50 and with a 2-3 inch tear. She then gave me an estimate of $1,300 to fix my custom painting, that costed me less to purchase! Completely absurd, right?! After that we disputed the insane quote she gave me (obviously because the art piece is beautiful). I pleaded to her that it’s unreasonable the price she offered and then I asked her, if I would have brought a 12x12 art piece would you still charge me $1,300 to fix a 2-3 cut? She then paused, collected her thoughts, and guess what?! She said yes!! Ahaha unbelievable right?! But it only gets worse…. After she said that to me I shared that another framing and canvas repair store quoted me half the price she did. This rude lady had the nerve, the audacity, the gall, the blatant disrespect to tell me “well then leave and go to the other store then” …. At that exact moment, I grunted, grabbed my art piece and left. 5 days later “the other store” is fixed my art piece for half the price. The art industry is full of dishonest people that try to take advantage of art lovers, by upcharging. Manors and politeness was non existent. This is the case with my experience in this store. Never...
Read moreI´ve been working with these guys since my arrival to Miami (beginning of 2016) and till now they never let me down. Even where they were with a ton of work over their shoulders they have time for me and my stuff.
Quality of their work: I´m a fine art photographer so the quality of the printing and frame are essential. They treat my pictures with much more care than I do and I´m a detail freak.
Customer service: Marta is the owner and also an artist so she knows artists concerns. Marjorie is such a sweet woman always treating me very nice. And Yasser, let me tell you that this pal rocks. December last year (2016) I had to send to Europe a bunch of prints. The deadlines where really tight because my client needed them within 7 days, Work of Art where closing for holidays and I had to travel. So Yasser, in the middle of the new year´s eve madness took care of my work. He also stayed 2 hours after closing, helping me signing each piece, authenticating them and preparing them to ship. If this isn´t prove enough of their excellent customer service, let me add that that day was his wife´s birthday and because of me and my deadline he was late for the party.
Guys keep it up. You are...
Read moreI have to say that Work of Art Gallery exceeded all my expectations. I was looking for a place to do a restoration on an very old Jesus Heart picture I brought from my country and found Martha. She was very helpful, knowledgeable and most important of all she understood what I was looking for. She put so much attention to the details that the end product was beautiful, the restoration was very detailed, due to the deteriorated conditions of the paint extra work was needed, but she was able to bring back to live all the colors, missing pieces, bright and details of the original paint that were erased due to the wear and tear. It doesn't stop there, after everything was done Martha showed me a huge variety of frames and once again, she did it!!!! Amazing job!!!!! a "rococo" style frame that fitted the theme of the paint beautifully... Thank you so much for all your work, patience,...
