From the moment my husband and I walked through the doors of The Brightside, we were welcomed like family—like we had been regulars for years. As Miami locals, it’s rare to find a spot that feels this warm, genuine, and inviting right off the bat.
We had first seen The Brightside featured on the news months ago and had been eagerly waiting for the perfect time to try it out. It did not disappoint! My husband had been dying to try the beef on weck, and I had my eye on the fish and chips—and both were absolutely perfect. Crispy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. We also kicked things off with the fried pickles, which had the most delicious, crunchy breading. Highly recommend!
The service was just as memorable as the food. Michael made sure our beers stayed cold and our glasses were never empty, and Hannah took care of everything else with a kind, thoughtful energy that made us feel right at home.
We truly can’t stop raving about our experience at The Brightside. We already know this will be the place we bring all of our visiting family and friends. It’s so refreshing to finally have a go-to neighborhood bar that feels like an extension of home. The Brightside has earned lifelong fans in us, and we can’t wait to come back again and again.

Read moreIt pains me to write this review because I was genuinely excited to find a little taste of home here in Miami, where I now live with my husband. We can handle a bit of good-natured heckling — I’m a Bills fan and he’s a Dolphins fan — but this goes beyond that.
Let’s not forget: this is a bar in Miami, where MIAMI locals support their bar year-round and keep the lights on for them, not just during football season. Last year, they had no issue showing Dolphins games. This year, it’s suddenly a problem?
We were really looking forward to watching the Bills vs. Dolphins game together last Thursday, but after seeing their Instagram post saying Dolphins fans would be capped at ten and turned away beyond that AND NOT BE ABLE TO SIT AT A TABLE OR BAR, only stand in the back??? — we were shocked. It felt exclusionary and frankly rude. We planned on ordering food but if we’re standing that’s uncomfortable and hard to do in a packed bar.
It’s a shame, because we loved the food and atmosphere, but we won’t be returning. No one should feel unwelcome just for supporting a...
Read moreYesterday I was at The Bright Side Miami to enjoy the Four Nations Championship Finals hosting Canada and United States. Understanding I was in rival territory being the ONLY Canadian in the building along with friends I’ve grown up with that are local to the respective hockey teams (Florida Panthers and USA Hockey). Went to the Bight Side to watch the final and was met with racism after the first intermission. I asked the owner as he was on the floor while game going and he went to address the situation. After acknowledging he said that he was gonna keep away the guy in the room saying racist things to myself and I said ‘is my safety less important than a racist guy’ and all he said he could do was ‘keep him away from me during the game’. What surprised me was the bartenders were on my side about the issue and nothing was done. After he repeatedly kept calling me a ‘Muslim’ during my stay at the Bright Side I immediately walked out and left to avoid any other future complications. Please...
