I have eaten here many times in the years I've lived here and enjoyed it, but tonight had got to be one of, if not the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We arrived at around 7:15, seated at 7:30, there were 3 of us. The waitress came to get out drink orders, we ordered 3 waters, a martini, and 2 long islands with cranberry juice instead of coke. Long islands came with coke, the waitress tried to tell us that it was cranberry but the drinks were clearly brown, not red. We drank them anyway. Ordered the food, smothered chicken with loaded mash potatoes and a Caesar salad, 8oz sirloin with a house salad and baked potato, and the steak medallions with peppercorn sauce over rice with a house salad and sweet potato. I had to pick my daughter up at 8:30, the food still had not come, so I ordered her a cheeseburger with fries before I left. Got back 10-15 minutes later, no food yet. Hers comes out promptly though, so at least she got to eat. 9:00 still no food, the manager comes by and says she'll see what she can do. 9:30 now, we ask if we can just pay for what we got and they can box the food up so we can go home. They did comp the food, we only ended up paying for the drinks. 9:45 dinner is paid for and we are still waiting. 9:56 (they close at 10pm) I say I want to leave, don't want to wait for the food anymore. We are leaving and they finally hand us a bag with 3 boxes. This is what we waited nearly 3 hours for. (See pictures) We left without eating and didn't get what we went there for. We probably won't go back for a long time. This was a newly redone place and I was expecting a lot...
Read moreI came back to my hometown to spend time with my family over the holidays. I asked my niece what her favorite restaurant is, and she said the Texas Roadhouse. Which tickled me. I have many good childhood memories at this Texas Roadhouse. So we showed up, and it was packed like it was every night, but after a short wait, we were seated and enjoying their honey butter slathered all over those warm, soft rolls.
The ambiance was classic Roadhouse. Very Texas. I will say, it's a major bummer that their peanuts are all in bags now. I miss the big free-for-all bucket. And the service was A+, as it always was. Very nice country folk pushing their delicious sweet tea on you. No issues.
I got the Full Slab Ribs (Slow cooked with a unique blend of seasonings and our signature BBQ sauce. Served with choice of two sides). I got the Sweet Potato and the Steak Fries (Loaded) as my sides. These were actually unbelievably good. They weren't exactly fall off the bone, but they were tender enough, and didn't have too much fat or cartilage. Very happy with these ribs.
I also got to try the Dallas Filet (Our most tender steak that is lean and melts in your mouth. Served with choice of two sides). With sides of mac & cheese and a Caesar Salad. It was also pretty good! Very tender, it cut well, and it was seasoned pretty ok. Add some pepper onto this mac, and you have a really good meal here.
Overall, this place was precisely as I remember it. It's a pillar of the community around here, and it made me very nostalgic. I'll come back, probably plenty more time before the end...
Read moreI hate to give a bad review to a place I love, but we don't get better without it. My wife and I went there last night. She ordered the Filet medallions w/ Portabello topping and sides of Sweat Potato and Broccoli and carrots and French Fries. She did order them well done (I don't like it, but she doesn't want to see "blood") and they came out like jerky. The mushrooms in sauce were cold and congealed. The carrots had that old dried out look. She said the fries were really good an we took the Sweat Potato home. I had the full rack of ribs, rice pilaf and the same veggies. The carrots were old and dried out, my rice was good, and the ribs tasted ok, but was pretty small for a full rack. We asked about all of this and the only thing they did was replace my wife's medallions. Our waitress was good and the manager was nice, but should have offered something else. Total was just shy of $73 without tip (I gave a tip). I come home and I'm sick all night and feeling it still at 9am. It was the ribs. I'll have to go to the Pensacola Roadhouse from now on.
Originally I gave this review a 1 star. I am editing this to a 3 because the Manager Matt from the restaurant called me about 20 mins after I posted this and offered his apologies and a gift cert. Stuff happens and this is how you deal with stuff happening from a company stand point. You can obviously see that the vast majority of reviews here are great. I still...
