Bittercube Apothecary — Attraction in Milwaukee

Coolest place ever. We were greeted as if they were expecting us. Looking at this place from the outside we decided to stop and check it out on our way downtown to another spot on a Saturday night. They gave us a tour and told us all about their company and origin of the drinks and house made bitters. We stayed and had a great time. The space you have to experience with a good friend. You will bring your family and Friends next time. We sat and talked and sipped then got hungry. We ordered food from next door and talked more. Cramped space and overpriced cocktails. Don't assume that experimental means good, I tried 3 cocktails ( the old fashioned, a variant old fashioned and the weekly punch ) the flavors were muddled and overpowered by the garnish. For 9$ a drink you could do better elsewhere.

Dock18 is out of the way making it an outlier if your planning a night. Given the strong drink and assuming you don't want to spend your night in a closet sobering up; have one and head out. The space and location doesn't fit the function of a bar or lounge.

This bar at North Ave Market knows what they are doing. If you are fortunate enough to get Anthony as a bartender, you will surely leave happy. He is literally an encyclopedia of cocktails….what goes together, what flavors work well, what specific alcohols should be shaken at room temp versus on ice. My husband and I appreciate all of the above and more. His brief lessons based on my questions were like being in a drink making class.
