The beers I had were good.
The interior aesthetic is aseptic industrial, which is responsible for most of my objections. I don't especially care about the visual appeal, though the lighting is a bit eye-straining, but like so many other places with either retro-industrial or modern-industrial aesthetics, the complete lack of soft surfaces and failure to use sound dampening panels makes the sound level almost intolerable. With the place half full, I was unable to hear members of my group from the other end of the table (we had a larger group, so we pushed two 4-tops together; a single 4-top would be less of am issue though will still require raised voices, adding to the problem).
I would especially not recommend anyone with sensory processing issues (especially autistic people) come here; the combination of the lighting and loud conversations could well make it unmanageable.
The food deliver from Tusk next door was a serious disappointment. My order, which only included two items, was wrong, and the food is not cheap - $10+ baseline costs (and over $15 for most dishes if you want meat or tofu, with $2 up-charges for sandwich toppings like cheese) for very small portions. I'd recommend bring food with you, which they allow, over ordering from Tusk.
In all, it's not the worst tap room, but I see nothing except possibly location to specifically recommend it (I didn't have coffee or tea, but there are better options for coffee or tea houses, too). I'm unlikely to...
Read moreWe stopped into Vennture Brewing with a couple of friends on a Sunday afternoon. There were a fair amount of people, however the service was quick and there was plenty of room for us to find seats. The space is roomy and pleasant, with an industrial feel which at the same time remains modern, light, and airy. The front of the brewery has garage doors which open to the street, and we appreciated the high and low table seating options. This would be somewhere I could come to get a beer with friends, or do get some work done with a laptop and some coffee.
The coffee smelled delicious, however we only sampled the beers. We tried the 49th Street NEIPA, The Heights Saison, and the Critical Adjustment Tropical Stout (both with and without coffee versions). All four beers were excellent, clean, and unique. We look forward to returning to try more of...
Read moreMy wife and I road tripped through 7 states and went to 30 breweries, some big, some small, and Vennture was the stand out of all of them. The staff was extremely kind (even going so far as to turn the Boston Marathon on for my wife and I), the vibe and the setting were nice and chill, the beers were truly unparalleled, each better than the last, and the coffee was some of the best we've ever had.
My wife and I rate breweries similar to the Michelin guide, some breweries are worth stopping at if you're passing by, some are worth going out of your way to visit, and some are worth being the destination itself. Vennture falls into this last category, it is a destination worth traveling to, and we will definitely be making the 400 mile drive multiple times in the future with the express purpose of visiting this brewery.
We cannot recommend this...
