Our first escape room experience happened here and it was amazing!
Upon arriving we didn't know it was located on the lower level of the building(I'm sure we could have read more on the website but I think the way we entered and did find it made it all the more fun). We went down the stairs into a dark hallway that lit automatically with motion sensor lights. Just through the hallway and around the corner and it was right there.
The lobby was very nicely decorated and themed like a very old hotel. There were lockers to put bags and jackets in which we hadn't even thought of needing until we were ready to start. We were given a walkie-talkie and escorted to the room.
All of the rules were very well explained and the time limit and there was an introductory video to watch that set up the story and the atmosphere. Our time didn't start until the video had ended and we had 60 minutes to solve the puzzle.
Without getting into the story and spoiling it, there were 3 rooms that had secret doors that opened when we solved certain puzzles. The main tip that the host had given us to not focus on one puzzle the whole time until it was done was very helpful. Anyways we finished escaping with 4 minutes left on the clock. As soon as we stepped out we wanted to move on and solve all the other rooms!
Thank you Mission Manor Escape Rooms for such a great night! 15 out of 10...
Read moreEnjoyed "The Inquisition". Fun and well-designed puzzles. My main complaint is the clue system. We were given a radio that we could use to ask for help, but we actually never needed to. Instead, the hosts far too frequently contacted us to give us advice every 3 minutes it seemed like. We would be stuck for only 1 or 2 minutes and they would radio asking us what numbers we were trying on the lock, or something similar. It sort of ruined the feeling of being trapped and having to problem solve. It seemed nearly impossible to not escape this room because of the amount of help that was given (and its not like we were hopelessly stuck or doing poorly, we escaped in 45 minutes). I would have been more resistant to clues, but our radio volunteer from the group (a stranger) was often in a different room and I wasnt aware hints were being given sometimes.
Also, I felt that 8 people was too many for this room. It felt crowded and often some people in the group weren't able to keep up. But I understand this is often done by escape rooms to bring in enough money.
Again, puzzle was well-designed and fun. I just think our circumstances might not have been the best with the group we were paired with.
Also, you get a $1 discount per person at the brewery in this building after the...
Read moreWe did the Asylum Room for my daughter's 21st birthday. We had six people in our group. Only one person had been to an Escape Room, one time. It was a first time for everyone else. I had a hard time just finding Mission Manor from the parking lot---that did not bode well for what my skill level might be once I got to the room. However, even my old brain was able to figure out a couple of things none of our younger crowd could so that made up for my ineptness from the parking lot... I would never have chosen to do this if it wasn't suggested by someone else, it didn't seem like my kind of thing. But I have to say, we had a blast. We (I) asked for one clue - probably way earlier than I should have, and the other clues provided without inquiry were tough clues but very helpful to make sure we weren't wasting time on something that wasn't an actual clue. All this to say I highly recommend it. We'll be back for sure. We probably would have booked another one the same day but being a weekend everything was full. Introvert or extrovert, give it a try. It's surprisingly...
