Nine Keys Salon + Metaphysical — Attraction in Minneapolis

I cannot express how much I loved this hair transformation experience — my previous haircut (at a different salon in WI) had been borderline traumatic and the alleged "curly hair specialist" had talked me out of the mullet undercut style I'd hoped for, claiming it wouldn't work on curls. Welp, Taylor (the owner of Nine Keys) sure proved her wrong! She explained her vision for the haircut clearly, checking every step of the way to ensure that the changes satisfied the brief, and she made sure to check in multiple times during the dye process to see how I was feeling. Her apprentice Maddy did this impeccable dye job, and I am still — weeks later — completely over the moon about this color! I get stopped by strangers all the time now with compliments or just huge smiles because it apparently makes them just as happy as it makes me to see the bright pop of magenta fairy vibes out and about haha. I literally couldn't be happier with the haircut and color that I got from Taylor, the owner.

I feel like I was not the easiest client- I wasn't entirely sure of how I wanted my hair cut but I was certain of the color I wanted.

She matched the color perfectly and as far as the cut she was really really good at helping me find the cut that was best for me!

Also this place is like to die for adorable as far as decor!

I didn't get much of a chance to look around at the store aspect because I had to rush off to another appointment right after.

By the way Taylor is so so so nice and easy to work with. I'm typically not super comfortable in salons as I haven't had a lot of experience with doing my hair or makeup so it's kind of a foreign space for me. Also I find that at a lot of salons the small talk doesn't always feel very genuine.

I sought out a welcoming and chill salon that was able to help me achieve my vivid and blonde hair color dreams. I fell in love with Walter’s work, and have now been seeing her for over two years. Walter, as well as the other staff, is always so friendly and attentive at every appointment. I feel like I am hanging out with friends when I am in the salon. These artists all take great pride in their work, and their passion shows in the care they take for their clients. The salon is beautiful, with comfortable and size-inclusive chairs that are accessible. The newly remodeled layout has created a lovely opportunity for local artists to display their crafts and demonstrate their skills.
