Pizza was decent, wasn’t expecting a wheat crust and quite honestly not a fan. I stay away from a wheat pizza crust if I can, but was under the impression from the menu that it would be sour dough. Crust had zero crunch for a wood fired za. Ordered a margherita, expected it to look like an marg with thick chunks of motz… the pizza looked like a carbones cheese pizza with a thin layer of dairy. Toppings fell off a slice to reveal a wet semi-undercook base. Most of this doesn’t affect the taste of a pizza. But it’s the presentation and mouth feel. After being couch locked watching shows like ugly delicious, I’m building up a tolerance for what to expect from a pizza joint like this.
Now all that said, it was still delicious (aside from the wheat crust), just not what I expected. I’ll be back because I love to supporting local. But if I’m picking my za for my Sunday za meal, Davanni’s/carbones/Broadway/Parkway all nail more pizza points.
Maybe if the crust was sour dough and im was in the oven a touch longer; it would have hit...
Read moreThis place is fantastic. The quality of ingredients is incredible. The sourdough based crust is just so flavorful, and is a delight to eat dipped in their homemade ranch. I am not a veggie person but I get excited to order their seasonals, especially the carrots, which are lightly marinated, and topped with a solid helping of herbs, cheese and sunflower seeds. It’s actually one of my favorite things they offer, so don’t skip it just because this is a pizza place. Also, their homemade sweet tea is just a great contrast to their sourdough. Annnd finally the dessert rotation, it’s amazing too. I always expect to order and get delicious pizza here, but am always excited to try their auxiliary offerings because they often end up being a surprise hit. I’ve ordered from here about 10 times now and they are consistent and fast, and have great communication and customer service. I can’t say enough good things about this place, and for someone who prefers meaty orders, the fact that I get excited about vegetables/salads from...
Read moreI don't understand how there are so many 5 star reviews. This place is solidly average. Not great, not bad - just average. But with high prices comes high expectations and this disappointed. We got the Blanco and Americanito? Flavors were flat. Crust was like cardboard. This is meant to be a takeout place and given how quickly the pizzas cooled, I can't image it tasting any good if you live more than a block away.
They do have a couple benches outside. There are free napkins and water. Water literally smelled fishy. Not really any shade. Plenty of street parking. The front entrance opens directly into the kitchen. The place to order is right next to the door. This confused me at first.
For $18 a pie (~$22 with tip - I have no idea why they even have a tip option let alone one so high for a takeout place) there are better options (arguably cheaper as well) a 4 minute drive away. It wasn't even that fast. Took like 25 minutes for the pizzas to come out.
Based on the reviews, I really wanted to love this place, but...
