I honestly had the worst experience here which really bummed me out. I've been multiple times and never really loved it (super dirty, bathrooms were out of commissions for months, inattentive staff). I have two kids (4 & 2). My oldest was on winter from preschool and I decided to take them both on Tuesday during the normally scheduled Tot Time which is an two window for younger kids (like mine) to play without older kids. I checked the website and the local instagram to ensure everything was good to go. I arrived a few minutes early and got my kids inside. I told them I was here for Tot Time. They informed me it was technically Tot Time, but they allow all ages during breaks. Obviously that caught me off guard and was not ideal. But also super frustrating because I had tried to find check before we went. I had promised my kiddos we could go so I paid anyways. It got wildly busy. Which was fine, my kids were a tad overwhelmed but they found things to do. Eventually they started playing in the dodgeball area with multiple kids and parents. Everyone was playing nicely and having a great time. Until the staff member came and informed my kids they were too little to play on this area. I reiterated that I was told it was technically Tot Time so I thought they could be in here. I told him I did not see a specific sIgn anywhere stating size for the dodgeball area or I wouldn't have left them play in there. He totd me I needed to immediately remove my kids from the area. They both began to cry, we ended up leaving. We watched multiple people leaving with crying toddlers for the same reason. I am all for following rules and allowing all kids to play as long as it safe. I was informed that ALL breaks allow all kids during toddler time. Which literally negates the entire purpose of tot time. Super bummed. I probably won't...
Read moreTalk about a great time! This place is insanely cool. When you walk in, the one-of-a-kind pink floor is the first thing you'll notice. The check in process was easy and the friendly staff made it a great experience. There was a line (to be expected at a facility this size) but the process was efficient and we were in in no time. Prices were great considering the fun you'll have and all the money I'm assuming these facilities must cost! They had a really nice area for little kids with ample seating for parents (my 3 year old loved it, and loved being part of the action doing the same thing all the big kids were doing). Kids area has a huge trampoline, a tiny dunk hoop, and a fun foam pit to jump into. As for the rest of the park, they have a HUGE main court jump area, the biggest airbag I've ever seen with a rope swing, multi-level steps, and 2 trampolines to jump off of onto it. The battle beam was super fun also! They also have "grown up" dunk hoops. I've never been able to dunk a basketball until this place lol Also, they have a huge dodgeball court on trampolines! Talk about an upgrade to your gym class dodgeball! For those not looking to jump, they had tons of comfortable seating, massage chairs, pool table, air hockey, etc. Something for everyone! The Cafe was super nice and very clean. I love the squirrel theme. It's everywhere and the branding is incredible! Just a beautiful establishment. We'll be back again and again. Next time I want to go during the night time events they do on the weekends. I drove by and it looked like a dance...
Read moreRan into some issues with their employees on understanding food policies here.
We originally planned to have a birthday at Westside Lanes, but the place was busy, so we ended up rescheduling and coming to Flying Squirrel instead (since they were open until midnight on Saturday, and it seemed like the best last minute choice). Since it was a birthday and we had a cake, we asked the front desk about their food policies and if it was alright if we could bring it in. If not, we'd just leave the cake in the car for later. Many businesses ask that you don't bring in outside food, but some make exceptions for birthdays, and we didn't see any signs at the Flying Squirrel mentioning food policies. It was our first time visiting here as well. We talked to the employees at the Front Desk about the cake, and they OK'd bringing it in that night.
So, we brought in the cake with the understanding that it was OK. A manager then came up to us immediately and asked us to leave.
There were roughly 10 of us that all had already paid the entry fee, and it wasn't a "can we put the cake in the car and come back inside." Just straight up, a manager (or assistant manager) told us we had to leave.
It was a huge bummer for a friend's birthday. The time we did have to bounce around and play dodgeball was fun, but the poor customer service and having to leave early ruined our night for sure. If you have any questions on policies at this place, make sure you talk to a manager or someone important, because they won't hesitate to kick you out if an employee gives you...
