I am a long time DQ fan as well as someone who has worked at a DQ location in the past, and to say this location is an embarrassment to food service would be an understatement. My friends and I had spent our time at the local Christmas market on 12/9/23 and went across the street to DQ because we all remarked that we LOVE Dairy Queen! Unfortunately our experience at this location did not live up to our expectations. We all ordered combos with additional items, and when I ordered I remarked about getting a whole box of fries, which they argued me down about saying they can't accommodate an order like that, so I just ordered a large fry and made my way to my seat a little disappointed, but then decided I'd go back up and offer to pay whatever was necessary for them to fill a box of fries for me, and they proceeded to go in circles with me about how they would not do it for me. I protested that I knew it wasn't on the particular menu but that I knew it was something they could do for me and they treated me very poorly up to the point that the manager had worn me down to a simple order of 2 upside fries dumped into a box to thereby supply me with a box of fries. At this point I already felt unwelcome and foolish, so I politely thanked them for putting in my special order and then made my way to my seat, where our food had promptly been served, excluding one of my friends orders. While he waited for his order I began inspecting my original order which included 2 large fries. To my discontent the 2 large fries were served to us both half full, which was difficult to bring up to the staff because at that point I felt like I was coming across very bothersome to them. They gave us an additional small fry to make up for the missing contents. At this point I was unimpressed by their service but it didn't end there. While we all began digging into our food, my friend proceeded to sit there for another 5 minutes before being forced to go back to to the register and notify the staff that his food never made it to the table!!! This was the crowning achievement of failure in customer service, they couldn't keep it together at all, and the place wasn't even busy. So we finished our food before our friend started eating. Then on our way walking out the door, the manager very oddly shouted "HAVE A NICE DAY!!!" at us, which came across as phony politeness. My partner said the hotdog she ordered tasted bad and had the texture of rubber. Honestly nothing but insult to injury at this place. I wish I went absolutely anywhere else! This location has definitively made me question eating at any DQ location after this. Don't eat here. If you want DQ go to...
Read moreThe ice cream itself tasted good, however it was extremely melted and runny when I finally received it. I almost asked for a refund and brought it back in because I had to pour almost half of it out on the ground outside because it was so melted at that point. I watched them make my blizzard and set it on the counter and then leave it there while they handed out all of the other orders that came in after me. I tried to be patient and wait for him to pick up the pace and catch up before I finally had to insert myself. It seems like there are zero systems in place for speed and efficiency at this dine in.
I only received the blizzard after I walked up and asked for it. Otherwise the front kid would have just left it sitting there and continued to hand out all of the other orders that were coming after mine. Im very patient, especially with the service industry… but it’s really hard to sit there and watch your blizzard melt and then have a bunch of other orders be handed out that came well after yours. Read moreFood and ice cream is good, but they are never there for the posted hours. So many different days of the week I've tried, but drive thru is either closed or they shut it down before the customers that have been waiting in line for 30+ minutes have actually been served. I understand the being understaffed, and I have worked in restaurants. Such a shame. I won't be returning.
UPDATE: Decided to give the Dearborn location one more chance. Online hours show open until 10 for drive through. Nope. Get there at 9:05 and they have the same sandwich board from 2 months ago out with a handwritten note that drive thru closed at 9 tonight. I managed takeout and delivery for Mustard Seed through covid and the reopening, and this is a behavior corporate would have fired us over. The employees may not like their jobs, but they keep doing this and I won't be surprised when this big shiny expensive location they built closes their doors for good. The franchise owner needs to do something about this if they want to stay...
