A Premier Conservation Organization. it is an outstanding organization that deserves a five-star review for its unwavering commitment to wildlife conservation, habitat protection, and outdoor heritage. My experiences have left me thoroughly impressed by their dedication, impact, and community involvement.

From the moment you engage with them, whether through their events, publications, or volunteer opportunities, it’s clear that this organization is deeply passionate about its mission. Their focus on ensuring the future of elk, other wildlife, their habitat, and our hunting heritage is evident in every aspect of their work.

One of the most remarkable aspects is their effectiveness in conserving and enhancing habitats. Their projects span across numerous states and have successfully protected and restored millions of acres of crucial habitat. This work not only benefits elk but also a wide variety of other wildlife species, contributing to overall ecosystem health. The transparency and thoroughness with which RMEF reports on these projects reflect their commitment to accountability and excellence.

The educational initiatives are top-notch. They offer a wealth of resources for anyone interested in learning about elk and conservation efforts. Their publications, including “Bugle” magazine, are filled with informative articles, stunning photography, and inspiring stories from the field. These resources are invaluable for both seasoned conservationists and those new to the cause.

their community and volunteer network is another highlight. The organization fosters a strong sense of camaraderie and purpose among its members. The events, such as banquets and fundraising activities, are well-organized and provide excellent opportunities for like-minded individuals to connect, share knowledge, and support conservation efforts. The enthusiasm and dedication of their volunteers are truly inspiring and a testament to the organization’s positive impact.

Additionally, their commitment to promoting ethical hunting practices and ensuring the continuation of our hunting heritage is commendable. They advocate for responsible wildlife management and provide educational programs that emphasize the importance of conservation-minded hunting.

In conclusion, they is a premier conservation organization that excels in habitat protection, wildlife conservation, education, and community building. Their tireless efforts have made a significant impact on the preservation of elk and other wildlife, and they continue to inspire and engage people in the mission of...

This is a great little stop in Missoula. I suspect it is under visited because it is tucked away in the north side of I90. If you are into wildlife, preservation or hunting it is a worthwhile stop. They have really nice collection of large animals and an exhibit where kids can touch feel different animal hides, feel the weight of antlers and hear many of the sounds associated with elk. They have a cool animated map the shows how the different elk herds migrate, taken from real tracking data. They also explain how hunting is used to help manage herds and keep the population from growing out of control. They have several videos targeted to different ages. There is a nice path through the woods outside. Signs along the path explain how the different plants and environs support elk in the wild. Overall in interesting little stop. My kids enjoyed it and would probably visit again if we had a little more time, especially for the...

Exquisite visitor center and highly respected mission. Great gift shop as well. It would be great if the center was open on Saturdays as well. We are from Florida and two prior times when in the area unfortunately happened to be on a weekend when the visitor center is closed. So, this time we planned our Montana trip so we would be in town during a weekday just to visit the center. However, we were so disappointed today when we arrived to find a large portion of it closed for remodeling. We had visited the website prior to making the drive, but didn’t see any mention of the closure. However, after today’s visit we looked again and did find a small blurb that states it is being remodeled for the first time and will be open later in the summer. We hope to make it back one day to tour in...

This place is phenomenal! Located right here in beautiful Missoula Montana. It is certainly worth a trip just to check out the history and heritage. You can also see some of the largest elk ever taken with rifle and a bow. What they do for conservation and what they continue to do for elk and public lands is well above par. You should really consider a membership if you enjoy recreating outdoors and or hunting our public lands. Without them I would hate to see what the future of elk and their habitat might look like. I will continue to support them in all they do and will hopefully be able to afford a lifetime membership someday. Thanks for everything!!

Fascinating place. They have more elk mounts than you've ever dreamed of in one place. Not only elk mounts, but most of the other large animals that live in the Rocky Mountains. Mentioned in the novel, Aikido Anaconda, it opens a whole new world to those not born to the mountains. You could bring the whole family here and spend an hour or two just browsing amongst all of the different displays. Nice gift shop, with lots of different sweatshirts, hats, other knick-knacks. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the Missoula area.

Only giving 5 stars for what they do for conservation. The last two times we've stopped however, were less than 1 star customer service. The guy at the front desk didn't even look up or greet us as we entered and didn't say a peep as we left. You'd think they could find someone that cared about their job and had some sense of customer service. For anyone in corporate reading this, our most recent visit was late morning Friday, Aug 16th, 2024.
