I have been a regular customer of this store for over a year and usually enjoy their ready-to-eat snacks section and the variety of Indian products they carry. Most of the time, I buy Aishwarya Bakery snacks, which are always fresh and tasty.
Recently, I bought 2 boxes of chips (a different brand since Aishwarya was not available that day). Unfortunately, the chips were not fresh at all—they were cold, lacked crispiness, and did not taste good. I ate only a few pieces from one box and then called the store to inform them about the issue. The person on the phone asked me to bring back the chips for a return.
When I went back with the receipt and the boxes, the man at the billing counter (the one usually wearing glasses) behaved very rudely. Instead of handling the return politely, he shouted at me, saying there was nothing wrong with the chips and that it was the best brand they had. I explained that I usually buy Aishwarya brand and would have been fine exchanging for those instead of a refund, but he was very angry and said dont buy Aishwarya brand chips i can give you refund and are you happy with that?
What was more disappointing is that while I was still in the store, he started handing out the opened chips packet to other customers and loudly complained about me. During billing, he even insulted the Aishwarya brand—calling it “cheap quality” and saying people like me only prefer such products.
Although I did get my refund, I felt very disrespected as a customer. When we pay for something, we at least expect a minimum quality and respectful treatment. I believe there are three people who usually handle the billing area and are the partners. I request the partners to please make the Pathanamthitta guy who always wears glasses understand how to behave properly with customers. I have decided not to come back to this store again, and that is why I am leaving...
Read moreI ’ve been going to this grocery store regularly for groceries and prepared food, but lately the quality has been very disappointing. Recently, I ordered a small catering tray, only to find out it was spoiled when I served it to my guests. A couple of days ago, I also bought a curry from their refrigerated section, brought it home, heated it, and discovered it was spoiled as well. The owners seem like decent people—one is pleasant and easy to talk to, while the other can be a bit moody—but the real issue is the lack of quality control. It feels like the food is either being frozen and reheated or stored too long without proper checks. If the food were truly fresh, it wouldn’t be spoiling like this. I’m sharing this review because I’m tired of dealing with spoiled products and hope they address their storage and quality practices. I had mentioned about this spoiled food in the past to the owners and they were really sorry about it and also offered to return the money. But looks like they are busy with sales and not paying attention to the ongoing shelf life of prepared food which are kept frozen and reheated. I am done going there, hopefully they take steps to prevent this quality issue of people eating...
Read moreMy friends who live in sugarland and I had been there to pick up lunch and some snacks. The lunch that most of the reviews suggested was their pothichorru, nicely wrapped in a banana leaf, caked rice, a couple of curries, an omelette, some thoran, the chammandhi and a fish fry. The quantity was more than adequate, the chammandhi was awesome. The curries ok. The fish fry was mediocre , dry and not fresh. The snacks we bought were beef cutlet, parippu vada and egg puffs they all were ok but lacked the wow factor. The masala in the egg puffs didn't hit the mark, the ratio was very less. The parippu vada was too fried in too much heat that it lost its flavor, the beef cutlet didn't taste fresh. The porotta n chicken fry was one of the good dishes, the deep red color though was a deterrent. The owners are welcoming and the store was well maintained. A ' might visit...
