This spot is amazing. The food was so delicious. I was very skeptical when I walked in. I didn't think the flavor would take me back to my childhood experiences when eating at my grandma's house in Louisiana. I ordered the fried fish with their crawfish sauce and my friend ordered the chicken pasta. When I say with each bite my eyes rolled to the back of my head as my taste buds were in total blissfulness. I knew the cook had to originally be from Louisiana. To my surprise, the waitress was the wife of the chef who is the son of the owner. I was blessed to have to opportunity to meet him. The service was amazing. The atmosphere was chilled. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They treat customers like family members and not like customers. I felt that. As a first-time diner, I was blessed to sample their bread pudding. For someone who hates bread pudding, all I can say is I will only eat their bread pudding. The taste and texture were on point. It was so sweet and creamy. The bourbon sauce they flavor it with is perfect. If you want some TRUE TRUE delicious authentic Louisiana flavored food, you must stop by and enjoy a taste from home. I will be back again and again until I have tasted everything on their menu. I am very hard to please when it comes to my taste buds. This place did not...
Read moreWe had a delicious meal on a Thursday, recently. I had the Smokin' 222 Chicken Sandwich with dirty rice as my side. The sandwich was very good. The spice in the mayo sneaks up on you a bit. But it is not outrageously spicy. The dirty rice was wonderful.
My wife had the Cajun Chicken Pasta. It was amazing with a creamy cajun sauce, strips of chicken and andouille sausage. I highly recommend this.
The dining room is very pleasant. There is a good-looking bar area and they have a very good bourbon and scotch selection.
Something that surprised us was how many Lousiana inspired items are on the menu. That did not come across in the name of the restaurant. It is by no means only a Louisiana food restaurant, but the two Louisiana style dishes we tried were both great. I want to go back and try their gumbo, boudin eggrolls, and creole sauce.
The entrees are a little pricier than I expected. But the pasta was large enough to share. I suspect that is true of some other dishes as well.
Finally, as first timers, the restaurant gave us free bread pudding with buttered pecan ice cream. It was amazing too.
I hope this place does well. It was not crowded at 6:00 PM on the Thursday we visited. So give it a try and support a great new restaurant...
Read moreNot impressed with the food thus far from here. We ordered takeout from here. It was a relatively easy process for ordering. We started with the Boudin Eggrolls for an appetizer. These eggrolls were really good, they had a slight heat on the backend and were full of the classic boudin flavor you would expect from traditional boudin in Louisiana. My wife ordered the Smoked Gouda Bacon Burger. The burger came with a piece of lettuce, 1 slice of tomato, and a good amount of grilled onions, but lacked any bacon. The Smoked Gouda spread was nothing special and even when everything was combined on the burger it was all rather bland. This is an extremely overpriced burger that we will not get again. The fries that came with it were undercooked, not salted, and also bland. I ordered the Swiss Burger which came with only the patty, cheese, and mushrooms. The burger overall was bland, the only exception was the ramble sauce, which had a slight dill pickle taste and left you with an extremely sour aftertaste in your mouth that reminded me of something almost rancid. This was also an extremely overpriced burger. I got the fried okra as my side instead of fries, and the okra was done perfectly. Overall, this was a huge letdown and way overpriced for...
