McAleer's Office Furniture Co Inc — Attraction in Mobile

My delight turned to dismay after I found the perfect mahogany wood lateral file that was a closeout. I was told they had more in stock that were boxed. After I paid for it, they said the floor model was the only one left, but they would pack it well before loading it into my vehicle. The salesperson and I both inspected it and there were no defects or scratches, so I agreed to take the floor model.

Once I got it home, I saw that they had wrapped it in plastic but left about 6 inches around the bottom of the piece uncovered. Also, they had placed a flattened cardboard box on the top of the file for "protection". The surface of the cardboard against the top of the file had hardened glue in multiple places that scratched and marred the top. There were also 3 inch areas of the finish rubbed off at the bottom of the piece, most likely from a dolley. The perfect piece I inspected in the store was a huge disappointment due to their carelessness.

2/29/24 Update: I was pleasantly surprised when Courtney contacted me the morning after I posted my review. She offered some potential solutions and ultimately found a new file at another store still boxed. They delivered it in 2 days in excellent condition. I am very pleased with their customer service. I do amateur live streaming video at our church. I needed a tall, adjustable stool to sit on comfortably. We went to several places, but they didn't have what I was looking for at the price range I was looking for. We were going to make "one more stop" before we threw in the towel. We pulled into McAleer's in the Mobile area. The place was spacious and well arranged. It had plenty of selection. The staff were helpful. Lia Harbin took us around the whole store and showed us a variety of tall, adjustable stools in various styles. Many were out of my price range. She was very understanding and showed some "lightly used" models. I found one that fit me and my wallet perfectly. After the transaction we pulled around to the loading dock and a nice young man loaded the chair...
