Car Audio Depot — Attraction in Modesto

I highly recommend Car Audio Depot for your custom Car Audio needs. I bought a Mustang GT Premium Convertible. The OEM Shaker 500 system was removed when I purchased the car. I, along with allot of customers started to do research on custom stereo systems. I started at 2 of the shops near 5 points on McHenry Ave in Modesto Ca. One Audio Dealer tried to sell me their old inventory. I wanted 8” subwoofers in my Shaker Doors. They said they couldn’t do it and offered to sell me 6X9’s for my Shaker doors. I scratched that location off my list.

The next location offered me a reasonable system with their inventory of speakers, subwoofers, custom box, amps and a radio with Netflix app. I was ok with the quote but held off to get another quote some where else.

I spoke to my girlfriend about the location she had her custom stereo system installed into her Old School 1972 Chevy. She referred me over to Car Audio Depot. They did an outstanding job with her custom trunk install with an impressive Chevy Logo to display when the trunk is open.

I drove my car over to Car Audio Depot and spoke to Sales Associate Andrew and the Store Manager Jorge. I explained to both of them what I wanted installed. Jorge showed me his Alpine inventory and quoted me with a complete Alpine car audio system, That consisted of an Alpine; Radio, back up camera, Speakers, amps, subs, custom box & Sirius XM Radio. Jorge said that his Tech Installers could install 8” subs for my Shaker doors. Andrew showed me the Viper Alarm System suitable for my convertible.

I gave it about 2 weeks and decided to go with Car Audio Depot. I ended up paying more than the other quotes I received for several reasons. I was not rushed, they spent the time to explain the details of their products and were very patient and professional. The store show room is very high end and organized well.

I set the appointment and went all in with a 3 day custom install. I’m very happy with the install and custom box adding the GT Logo to my Subwoofer Box. This makes my car unique.

New 2025 update: fits right into my original review…..driving my Moms truck this morning to get it detailed professionally . And No Joke, her truck alarm starts going off!!! While driving!! Lolll I pull over and it stops suddenly. I turn off the truck, then suddenly the doors lock, and the remote starter turns on the truck! On its own! I can’t make this stuff up lolll after 10 min of alarm blazing, I rip the “siren” wires and done! I call my Mom to tell her what happened and she says “I put a new alarm a year or 2 ago and it should be fine…”” I said where did you get it from… she says ….. yes…. This place 🤣🤣🤣🤣 trust me, go SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR ALL YOUR AUDIO NEEDS, and definitely not audio pros either 😂😂😂😂😎😎😎😎 (I’m sure this place will say “it’s out of warranty or sell my parents a whole new alarm, don’t worry, I won’t bring it in nor will they, I informed them and we taken all our cars/trucks elsewhere and trust me when I say, it’s not on mchenry nor in modesto 🤣🤣😎😎) This place sucks. BEWARE, they sell you junk and won’t warranty it and back up what they are selling. Sell you junk old audio equipment from the 90s and says it’s brand new 2025 style lollll

I had a bad experience years ago and my parents went there without knowing how bad they were until they had similar issues I had even back...

I’ve had car audio system installed at this shop before and the install was clean, the price of components was competitive to online retailers. Also, when there were some issues with amps or speakers Car Audio depot took care of the issues. So 10 or so years later I came back.

I did my own research and finally decided to pull the trigger and get an audio system installed. I was referred to speak to Jorge Deras (store manager) I told Jorge what it was what I wanted, asked what option I had and asked his professional advice. I further told Jorge what type of music I listen to and more importantly, I wanted the vehicle to look stock as this wasn’t a show vehicle. The shop has a demo vehicle and he demo’d it for me.

Jorge was upfront in the process. He updated me when parts came in and took pictures of equipment installed behind the doors. (This will be a life saver in future when dealing with insurance companies.). He also reached out during install just to confirm placement of equipment.

There was one small glitch in system and I came in and Jorge made sure my issue was addressed. Luckily nothing drastic. I highly recommend Car Audio Depot for any work to be done there and if you need components they will definitely at least match reputable online retailers on...
