So yesterday around maybe four in the afternoon, my boyfriend and I decided to stop in at this Gamestop to browse. It was not a fun experience. There were two employees on duty, both were rude. One of them was a petite young woman with blonde hair and an eyebrow piercing, she had no sensors when it came to what she said. My boyfriend is an employee for Gamestop at the location in Salisbury NC. She said "I wouldn't make the drive from Salisbury to come all the way down here to Monroe." My boyfriend pointed at me and said that I am the reason that he comes down here. She had a rude expression on her face and said, "Wow. You guys could at least meet HALF way, that's messed up to have him come all the way down here." I felt embarrassed and didn't know how to react. Then she went on to talk about someone in management not caring about the store and she was complaining about her job. That also made both of us uncomfortable. It was not her place to judge MY relationship with my boyfriend, nor her place to judge the way WE choose to live our lives. She just overall was rude with a bad attitude and horrible people skills. The man who she was working with named Tyler, seemed to be all over the place and very full of energy, kind of manic. It was kind of odd and made me have anxiety since I already have social anxiety. After my boyfriend and I were checked out. They both completely ignored us. They didn't say thank you please come again or anything. I could tell they didn't seem to care to be there. Honestly what I should have done was express that I didn't like what the woman had to say about my relationship with my boyfriend and should have refused business and left. I will not be coming back. Read moreBEWARE!!! Very disappointed with this chain. My 10 yo son used his birthday money ($75) to purchase a new deluxe edition xbox one game from the Concord store. When he got home they had given him a used 360 disk. I went to the monroe store to try to get what he paid for. They refused to give him the disk he paid for and we were made to feel like we were lying about the disk. I requested the corporate number and was on hold for over an hour. Also tried to reach the Concord store for over an hour and they would not answer the phone. The manager eventually have us the disk after much fussing and a couple hours in the store. She indicated that this would be a loss and she would get in trouble with the district manager. The chain definitely has issues and I was very disgusted with the difficultly, time and stress caused by this chains mistake and unwillingness to fix their mistake. Read moreThis rating is based entirely on my experience with company as a whole, and the two stars I'm leaving are instead for each of the two staff that helped me on my most recent purchase. All their help aside, communication with the store from my online preorder rendered the time spent worthless, and they should really simply remove the option as my purchase took 5x as long as if done all in store, and 10x as long as just doing the whole process via online game download.
