Outdated stadium in need of a massive overhaul regarding the fan side of things. Field lighting was not great, and seemed darker than most. The corners and dead center were especially dark. And the scoreboard is dated with an incredibly small video screen.
To enter the primary seating area, it requires taking 1 of 2 lengthy ramps to the elevated seats overlooking the field. Seats on the front row of each section have significantly obstructed views, as do some of the higher up seats from poles being installed for protective netting. Both the "reserved" seats and the general admission seating are all metal bleachers with only the "reserved" area having a back support. The seating requires using semi-steep stairs that have no hand rail past the first few rows.
For a stadium that supposedly holds 1,800 in that primary area, there is only 1 restroom for men and only 1 for women. And there are 2 concession stands serving soft drinks, beer and typical ballpark foods. The primary seating area is not very handicap friendly, as there are only 2 small spaces for wheelchairs along the main level.
There is a "homeplate box" area on field level that appears to be for season ticket holders and VIPs. It is accessed directly past the gate on ground level. However the seating there is folding chairs and bar style tables. Along the sides of the field are patio/picnic areas, as well as a playground for kids. I could not tell where the restrooms were for the patio areas.
While the player and team facilities appear to be fairly nice, the fan side needs much work. It is definitely showing signs of being 40 years old. Paint has faded and seating is worn. And the concrete shows significant wear and cracking.
Unfortunately, the stadium (like many other ULM athletic facilities) may not see upgrades anytime soon. The school has the lowest budget in the Sun Belt and was in the 150s on the most recent national report of...
Read moreIt was in every way a baseball stadium. It had seats, bases, infield and outfield, just all the things to play baseball while people watch you play baseball. There were also snacks and drinks for all your snacking and drinking needs. Five out of Five stars. Will definitely go back the next time I want to watch a baseball game played at the...
