Bowlium Lanes — Attraction in Montclair

Where should I begin... We arrived, and the guy at the register was so rude! Made us feel like we were wasting his time by trying to figure out which bowling package to choose from. Ok, what ever, no biggie up until I paid with my debit card. He asked if I was going to leave a tip on the credit card terminal. I ignored him, but he must of asked 3 times! Found out he is the manager too! Lol! Next, we received shoes. It was obvious they were not clean. My daughter's had food on hers. Next, our lane broke down, and we had to wait for someone for about 20 min to come fix it, which took into our bowling time frame of 1 1/2 hours that they would not give us back with that time we missed. Basically, the 5 of us only got 1 and 1/2 games, and it shut off. We went to get some beers, and then bar wasn't open. It opens at 5. We waited another 20 min to then have the rude bartender tell us that one of our Id's wouldn't work because it was a passport! Ok, but then he wouldn't serve any of us, for fear we would give the one with a passport some alcohol! Crazy! Ordered food, that was absolutely disgusting, soggy chicken strips??? Food took forever, and it is very expensive! Manager was completely useless! We didn't complain because it was obvious he didn't care. Everyone he talked to as I stood there in line was basically afraid of him! Lol, bottom line, dont waste your time going here. Overall it was horrible, and extremely expensive to bowl. I would have paid the same if I would have just gone...

There was a really rude male blonde worker with short spiky hair working on a Sunday night at 10pm First of all when we get there he over charged us one person extra in our group and didnt say anything and then when we realised we told him and he admitted he knew but didnt ever say anything and not only that but then he later went up to my 12 yr old little brother and told him to be quiet just because he was "cheering too loud" and everyone else in the room was cheering for their groups as well. My little brother was just so sad after the worker told him that and I was upset because he should have talked to one of his 4 siblings that are all adults instead of him first. He didn't apologise and made us leave by turning off our game. I asked for his name and he wouldn't give it to Me, and I was about to grab a business card and he ripped the tray out of the counter and walked to the back and took a couple mins to walk back out and then told me his supervisors name but he still wouldn't tell me his name. I took a picture of him and I am definitely going to call his supervisor tomorrow because that is not okay that he ruined a 12 yr Olds night when he was just trying to have a good time with his family, and kicked us out without a valid reason. Apparently you can only bowl here if you don't make any noise and they will overcharge...

I've been bowling here for over a year and no one has ever been rude to me or overcharged me. This is a great place to bowl, learn how to bowl, bring the family or just hang out with great people. Don't believe Jessica or America Guzman, I was there that night an that kid was so out of control. No normal 12 year old "WOO HOO" at the top of his lungs 10,000 over and over to where people are going deaf. the family kept egging him on the whole time even though it was quite obvious his behavior was making the bowlers on that side of the alley very uncomfortable causing them to leave. If the family which was all "adults" other than the 12 year old had any decency they would have asked him to quiet down a little before the other customers made complaints forcing the staff to kindly ask him to keep it down. This type of customer are the ones you hope so not return because they don't have the common courtesy for the other customers. I could say a lot more about the night but the bottom line is: This is a family owned center for all types of bowlers. They have great specials, tournaments, leagues etc. Give it a shot because the owners and staff truly are amazing and go out of their way to make everyone...
