RE STORE IS SUPPOSE TO BE FOR A GOOD CAUSE. PRICES ARE SUPPOSE TO BE LOW FOR PEOPLE THAT ARE TRYING TO FIX THEIR HOUSE ON A BUDGET. OR JUST GET BETTER PRICES. I DROVE OVER TO CHECK OUT COUCHES AND DRESSERS AT RESTORE IN MONTCLAIR OFF OF HOLT. AS I WAS LOOKING AROUND A TRUCK PULLED IN WITH MORE DONATIONS, AS THE EMPLOYEES WERE PULLING FURNITURE OFF THE TRUCK. A DRESSER SET CAUGHT MY EYE THAT HAD A PRICE ON IT. IT PROBABLY BELONGED TO SOMEONE THAT TRIED SELLING IT AT A YARD SALE, THE PRICE WAS FAIRLY REASONABLE. $150 FOR THE SET. SO I ASKED AN EMPLOYEE IF I CAN BUY THE SET. Thinking it was $150 after I asked A VERY RUDE MAN whom The employees called BOSS walked up to the dresser and PULLED THE $150 STICKER OFF, AND DEMANDED HIS EMPLOYEE TO MAKE THE PRICE FOR $500 FOR DRESSER ONLY AND PRICE THE SET INDIVIDUALLY, $150 SET TURNED INTO $1500 RESTORE PRICE. I WAS THINKING TO MYSELF THE MAN MUST OWN THE STORE. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY NEED TO CHANGE THEIR NAME TO HABITAT FOR INSANITY. I use to donate ONLY to help people in need. I do not donate to restore anymore because they LIE about wanting to help for a good cause. It’s sad. Please DO NOT DONATE TO THIS STORE IN MONCLAIR. THE MANAGER/OWNER MAN IS GREEDY AND ONLY THINKING ABOUT HIS...

Unaccountable and irresponsible. Find a better place to donate your goods. We are volunteers that find items worthy of donation before they are trashed or destroyed. My company pays all man-hours and fuel. We deliver to numerous charities when possible. We confirmed before pickup and delivery of donated furniture only to find out on-site that 70% of the items we were bringing were not accepted (desks of any variety, save small children's desks). The staff, both management and floor, felt the need to shift blame to the "new employee" that did not know desks were not accepted. Now we have spent 7 hours in total of our own volunteer time to drive and load; drive and store; drive and deliver; and now drive home with items that we have no choice but to take to the dump and pay out of pocket for trashing. We never would have loaded any desks at the origin location if there had been proper communication from the beginning. Instead of accepting fault and taking the desks (because "nobody buys desks") they just shrugged and apologized for wasting our time. So thanks Habitat for Humanity. Your humble charity knows no bounds.

Read moreCleaner and better selection than other Habitat stores like this. Prices are high. $500 for a nice, used couch. It's still a used couch that probably cost $800 at most. All the furniture seemed like you could find it new on clearance for the same price. The building supplies were limited, lots of doors, windows, kitchen cabinet doors, small amount of tile, a few bits of click lock flooring. Not much else. I'll be tempted to stop in to see if they have a good turnover and selection in the future, but I wouldn't look for appliances or...
