Fair warning to all: the moving companies will try to get you to go with 2 other carriers that have the worst reps ever. This 1 has high ratings for a reason. I got yelled at by 2 people at USA Home Logistics LLC whom I don't recommend at all, because their low budget movers in my area all had terrible Google reviews or none at all. The ones w/the worst ratings damaged & stole property from their customers! The only insurance companies that would insure those movers had complaints about claims not being honored up the ying yang naming the movers who violated their belongings & the people at the insurance companies that didn't honor the claim w/pics. I was told that no mover can afford this company's overpriced insurance & how dare I expect them to pay $1000s just for me. My response was "am I their only customer??? If so that means I don't want to use them at all!" Well that spoke volumes to me because using bad quality movers w/even worse insurance meant I wouldn't be insured by this company if the mover wasn't on their list. None were USA provided were! I canceled my move because I wasn't comfortable knowing my things would be on a truck in a warehouse over a weekend that movers had access to, I wouldn't be there to keep an eye on them nor lock the truck myself, so I canceled & went w/a mover that was ON their list. Guess what? No issues & no claims needed to be made! So the insurance may be expensive but it's worth it to go w/a mover on their list. I haven't fully unpacked & am still working through it, but I feel if I did have a claim it would be honored. I hope I don't because I trust my packing skills since I've moved so much. This was a 2200+ mile interstate move & the next to longest I've made in 45 yrs. It was hard & very stressful planning it but successful. I'm in my new place & glad I insisted that the mover be on the list of this carrier. Don't hire movers till you read the bad reviews 1st. That's what I did & ended up going w/a pod based co. that got my stuff here safe & sound. Couldn't be happier & would only use this carrier & their movers again if I ever move again. After the stress of this move I likely won't move again! Highly recommend this...
Read moreMoving Insurance covered my recent partial house move, and their prices were very reasonable. You can choose full replacement, or itemized replacement for only your valauable items, as well as other options. The deductibles were $500 or $1500, so be advised. The web site make it quite difficult to list only the covered items - it refused to let me submit the contract without listing ALL the items in the in inventory in order to cover the full dollar value of the shipment. Maybe it was me, but I. Oils to figure out how to do it otherwise. Having a complete in entire listing was helpful in case the moving company lost/damaged other items not in the preferred list, but it was a pain to have to list everything, even though I only had a small number of items I wished to specify. They also made you list very detailed descriptions of the covered items - - a process that took me more than an hour to accomplish. Thankfully, the movers did a perfect job - so I have no experience to report on how easy it would have been to file a claim. The fine print says that covered items will be repaired or if not reparable, replaced at the insured value, less the deductible, of course. Full value replacement options were very expensive - almost smith as the move itself, and is based on the total dollar. Alice of the shipment, which each and every item having to be listed in detail.
Overall, I found the web site annoying and clunky to use, and would not recommend it for those who have dozens of boxes (you have to list every item in the box). If you're looking for cheap insurance and you have a small shipment, this company...
Read moreI do NOT recommend using this third party moving insurance company. I will say that Ethan was extremely helpful in guiding me through the policy upfront. However, my items were damaged to an unusable and unrepairable level by Piece of Cake moving company. I spoke with the Claims adjustor Jana, for several weeks, who offered me a settlement for full replacement value of most of my broken furniture. I then disputed a few of the items that she was not replacing at full value. A few days later, I receive an email and she removed the ENTIRE replacement value of most of my furniture and only allowed for a repair of the items, due to an erroneous mistake that she made, where she did not include the inspector's report in the adjustment. It is unacceptable to make such mistakes, and to not keep the original offer for full replacement value for these items that are a physical hazard to me in my home! I then spoke with the Claims Manager/Supervisor Jeff, who also refused to replace my items up to full value or offer any customer satisfaction besides a $250 "good will," which is not enough to cover for the thousands of dollars worth of damage done. I now have to appeal this process further, and I've been living with broken glass and chipped and dinged up wooden furniture in my home for over a month now! I have splinters in my fingers and glass in my foot, but they still refuse to replace all of this damage!
End result: I finally got my money back for all of my furniture that was DESTROYED after disputing this with Brendan, VP at Anova Marine Insurance Co., but it was not an easy feat!
