They delivered us lettuce. Not kidding.
I ordered take out for a group of four. Came late, of course, but I still tipped the delivery boy. Upon opening the bag I saw my order was not there, so I called to see if he could run it over. As I am speaking with the manager my friend comes over and tells me all of the dishes are empty. It's all just lettuce wrapped in shells, tortillas, etc.
I explain this to the manager, asking if this is some kind of joke. She said they don't deliver to that place anymore (we were at the bar). Very rudely, by the way, as if it was something I should have known all along.
I hung up, packed the "food" and drove over there to return their crap and get my money back. They had already cancelled the card but I wanted my tip back and told them they ought to give that kid his tip out of their own drawer.
The bar we were at is opening a Mexican kitchen in a few days, so they were probably giving the finger to the bar, but how idiotic to involve innocent customers in your petty tiff with another restaurant.
Besides all that, the manager was extremely rude on the phone, and in person was hardly apologetic. No coupon, credit, nothing. Just, "oh we were told not to serve there anymore." As if that explains why they went through the time and trouble to make and deliver empty dishes.
I've never had any dining experience as cold, rude and unsympathetic as I got from Tinga. I will never give them my business again, nor will the 20 people who witnessed what happened. And I suggest you just go somewhere else, a place that takes pride in its kitchen and treats paying customers...

After 45 minutes of waiting I call the restaurant, and the gentleman tells me the order will arrive in 15 to 20 minutes. After waiting an additional 35 minutes I call to cancel and the order and the gentleman cleverly keeps me on the phone for approximately 6 to 8 minutes giving the driver more time to arrive. I accepted the order only because the children were hungry, however, I did not like the sneaky tactic although I do understand I did notice the fact they added a tip without my knowledge or consent, I DEFINITELY would not tip under these circumstances. Lastly I was disappointed that it took an hour and 45 minutes for a delivery, and I live4 minutes from the restaurant. Nevertheless I hope it was worth it to them as Montclair has many restaurants that deliver in a timely fashion. It is time to find another resturant. Chicken fingers were really good. The fajitas while cooked perfectly, lacked flavor, salt, as well as presentation. I know it all goes down the same way however many do not want food all jumbled together in a container reflecting a MESS! ( not appetizing at all) I WILL GIVE THIS PLACE A LONG BREAK. Update yes David you offered to refund my meal but you never offered to deliver it. You said you would credit my next meal, which is the same thing tinga millburn offered me before to which they wouldn’t credit. Oh and the other stipulation was drive back to you with the wrong order and you will replace it as I stated that is a 30 minute round trip for me and it wasn’t worth the $36 I spent at your restaurant. Not to mention you didn’t have any singles to give me as change and offered me quarters to which I just bought a bottle of hot sauce instead. Please don’t make up lies on google to try and make your restaurant look better. And don’t blame a system when both bills email and paper stated what we ordered not to mention the kitchen print out. Also side avocado means side not inside the food. Don’t worry we won’t be back there’s plenty of places that offer the same food as you.
