Greetings,
I hope you are all well. After witnessing a situation that didn’t sit right with me, I wanted to reach out and bring attention to this issue by hopefully reaching the owners of this brand.
Today I was able to visit your location in Montclair NJ on Bloomfield Avenue. Initially, this location seemed very welcoming. However, while I was browsing within the location, I noticed two people attempting to come in.
The sign on the front door says that there can only be 10 CUSTOMERS inside at a time. At this time, there were only 6 customers in the store and the cashier.
A Caucasian woman and her daughter walked inside, as well as an african american man and woman.
The cashier yelled to the two african american customers that they could not come inside the store insinuating that the inside had reached its capacity (which was false as there were only 6 customers inside). With the woman and her daughter walking in, this brought the total to 8 customers (including myself) so I was taken aback that the cashier was adamant the store being filled with 10 customers.
The african american woman and man then counted out loud the people number of people in the store and calmly asked her, “but your sign says 10 people. Wouldn’t we make it 10?”.
I genuinely felt uncomfortable because I couldn’t understand whether the cashier was saying this because of their skin (as no one else in store was african american) or not.
After two more people walked out, she allowed them to come in but then allowed three other people to come in as well. If the capacity was an issue, why allow more then just the two of them inside?
I truly hope this issue is looked into as I cannot support an establishment that blatantly allows discrimination in any way,...

Since partaking on my "Stone Journey", I have been looking for crystal shops around the area that had 1) a wide selection, 2) a knowledgable and attentive staff, 3) reasonable prices, and 4) amiable atmosphere--both in presentation and "feel" for the place. Rocky's is one of the very few I've visited that hit all the marks.
My best friend and I were very happy and impressed with our visit! We loved the numerous kinds of stones (some in both their tumbled and raw form), the way they were displayed, and the space we were admitted to browse and select the ones that called to us.
The proprietors were incredibly delightful. Rocky and Kerel emanated good vibes; it was almost too overwhelming to handle (or maybe that's just me being used to communicating with somewhat distant sellers in other places...). The free crystal was amethyst (my birthstone!) and, as a promise to write a review online (totally wanted to add on to the many good reviews already on here), a free bracelet! I chose the one with Mookaite--funny because I picked up several Mookaite in the beginning, but I put them back to remain within budget. (It was meant to be~)
Overall, I was very happy with my experience. I plan to make monthly trips to Rocky's in...
Read moreRockys Crystals & Minerals is honestly a hidden treasure. My time here was certainly enjoyable. They have a wide selection of crystals, along with decorative goodies, candles, healing & meditation needs, and even meditation gatherings!
It was my first time here and I've never met someone as loving and knowledgeable for their customers. I picked up on one of the employers, i know I'm gonna misspell his name.. Corell? greeting previous customers and assisting them when they had questions and opinions on things.
Every rock here has the description and prices right by it so you do not have to go back and forth to checking upon price.. Prices are fair for what you pick up. They do it by size and location of where the rock came from. They even have jewelry for sale.
The ambience is great. Its modest and chic than typical rock stores. Everything's organized well and makes you look upon each shelf thoroughly before moving towards the back of the store. They did great in terms of flow because I had myself looking at every bit of detail!
Also if you spend $15, they will give you a complimentary rock to choose from. Every week it changes, and oh boy if I lived in the area I would probably be here all the time.
I'd definitely come back. It is worth the drive and honestly one of the best experiences...
