Montebello Barnyard Zoo — Attraction in Montebello

I recomen this place once just because it was cool being able to feed some of the animals. If you feed and pet the animals your hands will smell like birria tacos for hours, up to you if its a good or bad thing. I spent the extra 18$ for the pony ride, train ride(smoky old mini tractor hauling you around on a chiropractic container on wheels). And the marry go round horse ride. I went with a party of 4, tried to make the best of it for my toddlers sake. Train ride was an extra 8$ so i can go on it with my toddler. I understand they have bills and employees to pay and the prices are shown on there website, so prices were not too surprising and would have been good to just go once buuuuuutttttt!!!! Yes, the lady charging! She is very rude, she ignores you and so on ; by the looks of previous reviews she remains the same. I asked the employee at the (train ride) if i can give him both tickets since he was the same person handling two of the three rides. You guessed it, he said “no”. Then the merry-go round is stopped by the same person, he walks out opens the gate right next to the gate for previous ride and accepts the other tickets(pieces of receipt paper). He then hopped on the train (tractor) and proceeds with that ride(back still hurts a little from that ride). Finally the pony ride. The pony ride was two cicles and done. It was good my daughter loved it, so i loved it. The guy in charge of the pony rides was by far the most respectful and didn’t even say anything bad regarding the cashier from hell. But did i mention the lady charging the entrance fee, she is very ignorant and rude. Will not go back just because she ruined what little joy we tried taking from what could have been a quick and decently fun time. With that being said, buy the voucher from Groupon and just go there once and experience it for your self. Groupon only charges 16$ for a party of...

Realized I did not get my credit card back after paying for the pony ride which was $8 but that became $51 at bath and body works at Montebelo.

Giving one star feels like giving hundreds at this point.

Not to mention: all the animals look so sad…and some kids were totally abusing and hurting little ducks and even when reported to the worker, nothing was done. The owners are not interested in the well being of the animals it seems like. Yet they own this petting zoo.

The goats were fighting and hurting each other to get food from us. I wonder if they are properly being fed.

The ponies….[which I shouldn’t have ridden because thats when I “lost” my card and later that day it became $51 at bath and body works] - looked lifeless and tired….i know. I shouldve left at that point. And not had said yes to my kid and “leave” my credit card behind.

the workers: the front cashier lady could’ve just called my name to give my card back after charging the ride as I was there for good ten minutes to watch my kid ride the pony but didnt. Later my card had that pending charge I didn’t spend. I still don’t know what to think of this.

everything didn’t belong to a place that had as main customers, the children.

Please don’t go here. If you do, take care of your credit card….but if I were you, I wouldn’t...

The place is cute with animals and pony rides. My family has been here a couple times and the cashier hasn’t been the friendliest. Please be courteous and with appropriate customer service. Seriously unprofessional young lady. Arguing about with us about why she charged for us to go on the train but we just asked “how much” was the train and she charged us for it. We asked if we could pay difference for petting the animals she said “no you owe me blah blah.” “You said you wanted the train.” Girl, what happened to “sorry mam for the misunderstanding.” Sheesh. So we stood quiet and paid for the animals and didn’t argue.

I asked for the receipt for petting the animals and she said “What receipt, I don’t have the receipt. I threw it away.” She ended up giving us the receipt anyway.

The first time as well. She wasn’t friendly but I looked past it and went again because being with the animals and nature brings peace and contentment. To the young lady, I hope you’re able to enjoy being at work 🩷 I hope...
