Rio Hondo Park is a beautiful place. Its large flat field is perfect for soccer playing, Frisbee catching, Kite flying or really anything you can think of that requires lots of space. It's great for jogging. you'll be sure to come across a few others trying to get their miles in. There is also a well kept baseball field, with plenty of outfield for those big hitters. The basketball court is the best around, and the playground is modern and uses recycled tires for their surfacing instead of dirty sand or wood chips. Their bench area is perfect for birthday parties or any general family get-together's, but you have to make a reservation. There are two recreational buildings that offer lot's of extra activities. One is on the park, and the other is across the street and is primarily an after school type place for young teens that has really upgraded and thrived over the passed few years. Despite what you might hear about the neighborhood, it's a calm, quiet and safe park that you can bring your children to with peace of mind.
