The museum grounds are beautiful and full of opportunities to learn and understand the Mohegan people. I anticipated my young daughters would learn a lot but was surprised when it became an impactful learning scenario for me. The staff or volunteers were all very friendly, patient with young children, answered a variety of questions on a range of topics, told stories, and guided us about the importance of the artifacts. Our gracious host showed our students how to make ground corn what life was like living in a wigwam, the history of Chief uncles and the Mohegan tribe as well as teaching us how to make a dugout canoe.
