Anita got us off to a GREAT start! She was professional, efficient and so helpful. She did a great job of educating us about the use of the kayaks and all of the possible paths we could take and what we might be able to see and experience once we were out on the water. All that she told us proved to be true. We loved every minute of our time and would definitely recommend the Kayak Shack. Out on the water, we learned so much from the oyster farmers who were so kind to answer all of our questions and show us some parts of their farm. We happily purchased their oysters at Dockside later in the day. Our paddle to the sandspit was well worth the effort (if you want to walk over to the ocean side, bring shoes as the sand can get VERY hot). We saw lots of wildlife. We will come back for another trip in hopes of seeing the rays and sand sharks and exploring up the inlets a bit more. It was a wonderful day for all 5 of us! Anita cheerfully greeted us upon our return along with another female (sorry, that I don't know her name, but she was equally as warm and friendly). Keep up the great work,...

My family did the sunset dinner trip and it was fantastic. Our guide, Kat, was wonderful - competent, friendly, and the trip was very smooth. We learned a great deal, even though we were already familiar with the area. We saw seals, otters, countless birds and beautiful scenery. The kayaking was great, but then we pulled up on the sand dunes. Kat set up the picnic dinner - great cheese, crackers, and good wine - while we explored the dunes. We had just enough time to walk over to the ocean through wonderful dunes. We made it back in time to toast the sunset! The paddle back is easier with the wind. Highly...

Had a great paddle from the Kayak Shack in a tandem. Their dock launch system saves time and is fast in and out. The launch location is right by the Morro Bay estuary, so wildlife viewing was just around the corner. We also asked for suggestions and headed over to the dunes spit to walk across and see the ocean break before finishing up our nearly 4 hours of paddle fun. We saw sea otters, seals, numerous different bird species and had pelicans buzzing past us at times. Highly recommend a kayak in this area and next time if we don't have ours, we'll be renting from the Kayak...

A ton of fun. This is a no frills business which is perfect for me since I live here. A single person kayak is $16 for the first hour and $8 thereafter. Includes a kayak, life vest and paddle. No advice on where to go was offered but I didn't ask. If I had asked, I'm sure I would have gotten some suggestions on where to go. They were very nice people. You give an ID and pay when you finish. I was out for 1.25 hours and was charges $20. Paddling over to the sand spit was way further than I thought but glad I did it. Loved seeing the wildlife in the water. Great day!

We arrived without a reservation and were very quickly served and got out on the beautiful Bay. The attendant was very knowledgeable about the tides and gave us very helpful suggestions on the route to take relative to the tides. The equipment was well taken care of and easy to use. Highly recommend the Kayak Shack for your next Morro Bay adventure. Also check out Bayside Cafe for post-kayak fish and chips right next door! Thanks Kayak Shack for a memorable experience!

Hands down the most easy-going and fun experience on the bay. Both Bolly and Anita were extremely friendly and helpful. With no hassle, they set us up in a tandem kayak for an afternoon of exploring the bay, viewing the wildlife and relaxing on the sand spit. Kayak Shack has a cool contraption that allows you to easily get in and out of the kayak. We will defiantly be going back for another Kayak Shack adventure.
