I brought my Xbox One to GameCo expecting a professional and honest service done to repair my system since it was having trouble reading game discs, as well as trouble reading some downloaded games. I paid $45 for them just to take the system in and look at it and was told two days later that it was FIXED, and that the repair would cost $75 more. Turns out the system was NOT fixed. Even though I originally explained that it was a problem with PLAYING GAMES, I found out that no tests on any games were done whatsoever. They don't even have games there to test on the systems, so I had to bring some of mine in just for them to use. After many days of driving 45 minutes to the store and 45 minutes back to my house, I was told I wasn't to have a refund, even though the "work" that was done did NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. The owner claims that the $75 worth of "work" (not including the original $45 it took for them just to LOOK at it) was from them having to solder something in my Xbox. That's it. Does that seem fair to you, GameCo? Telling somebody "oops, we can't actually fix your system, so instead of giving you at LEAST half your money back, we'll just rob you of your money and wish you the best, even though we could very well afford to give you your money back". So, after all the time and money wasted (not to mention all the gas money spent getting to the store), the owner told me that my best bet was to just go out and buy a new system, which I am definitely going to do. Would've been nice though to spend that $120 on said system rather than waste it on a repair that was never accomplished. So disappointing and outrageous. In addition to all this, the owner had the nerve to offer me IN STORE CREDIT for my system after taking $120 from me - what a joke. Please, don't let what happened to me happen to you - DO NOT GO TO GAMECO.
//UPDATE//
So as you all may have read, probably more than once to understand the poorly written, unprofessional reply from the owner, he believes me to be a fierce, ferocious feline creature. Not only can I tell you with utmost certainty that I am NOT actually such a savage animal, but I can also tell you that I am definitely not deceiving anybody into buying a broken Xbox - I listed the item detailing every issue it has in the hopes that someone or a company who can actually fix it might come along and pick it up. And as for expecting to not pay for the work done to "fix" my Xbox One: Yes, I expected at LEAST a partial refund for the unsuccessful work done on my system, not to be offered in-store credit after shelling out $120 for your "repair" just so I can give you more money in the long run. That's ridiculous. I could also indeed upload my paperwork that I "feeled" out just to prove that there was no mention of soldering whatsoever, but I wont waste my time any longer. If anything, your incoherent rambling just proved to all your potential customers reading this just how far they should steer clear of your business.
So, to everyone out there reading this thinking about going to GameCo, I sincerely hope it's not too late for you to make the decision - DO NOT GO HERE. Best of...
Read moreI like this store but I still have mixed feelings. Firstly I think I have enough experience to evaluate the reasonable value of classic games and consoles. I typically go here over Game On because the game selection is always better. Plenty of NES, N64, Gameboy, PS1-4, and Xbox games. I also appreciate the selection of consoles. Lots of rare finds and limited editions. But they are overpriced. I see a cool version of a Gameboy color and it goes for $40 above an eBay price. I found two decent deals but 5 different times I ended up finding that some games I bought were $10-$15 more than what they could be. A benefit of buying in person is that if it’s broken it’s an easy return. Although I’ve never tried returning a game, haven’t needed to. A couple games required me to spend some time cleaning them to make them work. I’ve heard the owner talk to people about their console repair and it literally sounds like a scam. You pay an initial price plus the parts and if it doesn’t work after that you’re screwed. Feel free to correct this if you didn’t experience this as I haven’t tried to have them repair a console. Lots of reviews mention bad experience with the owner but I actually think he’s pretty good. This store is not the Walmart of games for the average person. This place is for if you know what you’re looking for and what you’re talking about. He’s really knowledgeable about game series and the history of consoles. I think the store set up does a disservice to the business. It’s just so packed with 60% of things are likely never to sell because no one is looking for that stuff. So I like this store. I think stores like this are just hard to run. Some major changes could put this store into an excellent resource. I’ll probably keep going here because it’s never going to improve if no one goes here. I tend to check Game On first just Incase they have anything but I will go here the same day. The game selection here is it’s strongest attribute. It’s my go to game store for Mt. P. But if I’m in Midland or somewhere I’d just go to one of those. Don’t let reviews turn you away. Go there at least once and see what you think. Better inventory here but Game On is brighter, cleaner, more balanced, and better with customer service. Needs...

I have a 2014 Quad Core i7 With Retina Display Macbook Pro. This is a VERY expensive machine that cost over $2500 New. Unfortunately it was the victim of water damage. I tried EVERYTHING to make it work again. The machine would intermittently power on and off, and the screen quit working on the one whole side, and the rest was all fuzzy and unreadable. The mouse, and Keypad also quit working. I took it to the Apple Store in Grand Rapids, where it was sent to Apples repair center in Texas, and was quoted a tier 4 water damage price of $1200 to replace the Logic Board, screen, and all of the other components because it was all damaged. I was not about to spend that amount of money. I knew that when it was in my bag, it was tipped up right, and only the one edge had gotten submerged. After I declined the repair, I got the laptop shipped back to me, and I even asked apple to send me a written list of the things that needed repaired. I decided to open the laptop for myself to see how bad it looked, and noticed as I has suspected, that only 2 of the LCI's had been tripped from moisture, and did notice some very small corrosion. I decided to take my baby to Ian (The Owner) to have him see if there was hope. I dropped it off and paid the microscope examination and cleaning fee of $98. After a couple days he called me with GREAT NEWS!!! Everything except the screen was working perfectly. He cleaned all of the corrosion off, and found that non of the hardware was bad, I only bad part on the whole computer was the Retina Display. He ordered a NEW OEM FACTORY screen and installed it and now the machine works perfectly. The Screen alone was about $500. And it was the going rate for that screen because I did my own research online. Online they were about $400, so to make $100 for installation is more than fair. I can't thank Ian enough for taking the time to work on my computer. I would not take my computer or phone anywhere else in the future. I know I am in good hands....
