Galatea Designs — Attraction in Mountain Brook

I met Galatea by chance walking my dog in the neighborhood. At the time I was getting ready to propose to my (now) fiancée and had actually had a ring on hold at Diamonds Direct. We talked for a few minutes and I learned that my new neighbor friend was a diamond broker and international custom jewelry designer. She convinced me to hold off my purchase and give her a chance to source a diamond for my fiancée’s engagement ring. I am so happy that I did. For the same budget I was able to get a MUCH better ring. I was stunned at the amount when I took it diamonds direct to be appraised. We ended up working with her to make our wedding bands with custom designs and engravings. We will go back to Galatea for future jewelry purchase.

I set out on the not so fun journey of looking for an engagement ring for my fiancé. First trip, Jareds..and I barely got out of there without some love stones or the Ashley and Kate collection haha. Next step, Costco and I actually felt much better about working with them until a coworker told me about Galatea. I didn't know what a diamond broker was but I was intrigued so I contacted her. Fast forward..I bought the ring of my girl's DREAM, within my budget and she can't stop staring at it haha....for a guy that's a WIN!
