Read moreAbsolutely. First we got seated in a timely manner. From here goes down hill: Waitress took about 10 to 15 minutes to come to our table. We gave her our drink order and she then said do you know what you want to eat. Didn't think much to this there were a lot of tables and she most likely knew based on the time that she took we would know. Note: when ordering many tables had potatoes even after we sat down and when other orders where coming out while we waited.
We ordered three plates: After already over 20 minutes only two orders came out and we were told the chicken for my daughters meal was still cooking.
I placed a to-go order… was told it would take 45 minutes because they were behind. No problem. I showed up an hour later just to be sure it was ready. Walked in, wasn’t greeted, so I stood a distance from the bar for a little while thinking that’s where I would pick up the food. No assistance, so I turned to the greeter and asked “Is this where I pick up my to-go order?” She pointed and said something, not sure what. So I asked, “I need to get it over there?” She replied, “She is bringing the orders to that table.” Not sure who she is but ok… no biggie. That’s when I noticed a small table tucked into a corner with one lady sitting down at it and another gentleman standing in front of it. That’s literally all that could fit around it, so I continued standing where I was for another five minutes or so.
Then I saw a gentleman come in and tell them his name after which I watched them go get his order and bring it to him, you know, what I normally experience when picking up to-go orders (unless it’s a restaurant like chick-fil-a or Panera with a universally established pickup-order process). At that point, I reckon the greeter saw the look of confusion on my face bc she then turned to the runner and whispered something under her breath after which they finally asked me, “What’s your name?” I responded with my name, and they said, “Your order is right behind you on the [crowded little] table. Forgive me. They didn’t say “crowded” or “little.” I added that to be petty bc when they said it, the tone had a touch of “duh… we did our part” in it. Anyhow, this is not criticism for the young lady who was greeting/not greeting people; she wasn’t rude per se but clearly didn’t want to be there or to deal with anything breathing, which I can understand bc we all have our days. Nor is this feedback for the runner bc she was clearly busy and doing the best she could. This is more so feedback for management: Train your people continually; then check on your people regularly to ensure they’re all right. The restaurant business is tough. PS The food was cold, but it was still good, and I plan to continue to patronize...
