At the North end of the complex, there's a sliver of a park and playground sandwiched between a parking lot and a ball field. The park area feels surprisingly cozy despite how it's situated in relation to the road and parking lot. It has picnic benches that seem in good shape and the park seems fairly well taken care of. There's a paved path around the whole thing and you can just about walk the whole way around it without losing sight of the playground.
The ball field to the north is packed sand with some moss and weeds creeping in ever widening patches. Tall fences line a good portion of the side of the field adjacent to residential housing, but if you do manage to launch your ball or disc over the fence, you're either in somebody's back yard, or in the 15 foot wide blackberry bush no-man's-land. Either way, you can kiss the yellow Innova Beast and Leopard goodbye...there might be a white Innova Shark in there too, now that I think about it. My point is: be careful.
Also, keep a close eye on your belongings. I ventured into the aforementioned blackberry bush no-man's-land to see if I could reclaim a lost disc. I set my disc bag down at the entrance to the forbidding thorny tunnel, well away from the path, and began high stepping my way into the brambles. After making significant headway I heard voices up in the playfield and after some time, finally decided I should go check on my belongings. Glad I did because they were gone. Fortunately I had a friend with me and I asked him to spin around the block all stealthy like in his Prius while I followed the foot path North out of the park to see if I could catch up to the pilfering party.
I spotted what turned out to be a middle aged woman walking with her three dogs and teenaged son, and sure as shootin', there's my bag hanging off her shoulder. I was a full block behind and didn't think it would be a sound tactical move to mount an aggressive pursuit; luckily my training as an office worker kicked in and I effectively squashed the impulse to start running. Just as I was reaching for my phone to engage my mechanized support, I noticed a Prius just drove up and began conversing with the burgling Betty.
My friend, remaining in his vehicle a safe distance away so as not to seem threatening, asked her politely if she'd seen a bag full of discs back at the park, which she replied she hadn't. He pressed further, gesturing to the bag slung over her shoulder, and let her know that she was carrying property that belongs to somebody who is looking for it at that very moment. I finally caught up with the thieving Theresa as she was claiming that she wasn't stealing anything, but rather walking the bag to the police station... despite the fact that she was headed in the opposite direction. When I asked her to please give my bag back she got all huffy and threw it into the street as she yelled, "Fine! Take it you fatsos!", and stormed off.
So yeah, it's a great...
Read moreField, park well maintained for the off season. The city must of hired heavily as im seeing city vehicles and crews cleaning up graffiti from residential fences the day after I do my art work. Kind of frustrating lol (jk) peeps. I'll comment once we're in full softball season. When the teams and fans are in the parks. That's a real indicator of good maint when they are clean and well...

Parking lot is a full circle so bigger vehicles and trailers will have no problem getting in and out, lots of garbage cans to keep things clean and tidy. I'd...
