Incredible San Diego style taco shop!
First of all, if you want rice and beans in your carne asada burrito, and you are used to terrible Seattle Mexican food, please drive your a$$ to the closest chipotle, because you are not worthy to eat this Southern California delicacy.
Believe it or not, the food here is actually better than many places in San Diego that I grew up on. I was shocked. There is absolutely nothing better than a nice Carne Asada burrito with nothing but steak, guacamole, and pico de gallo.
Again, if you have zero taste in Mexican food and want rice and beans in your burrito, go elsewhere.
The rolled tacos are fantastic and reminded me of my childhood. Epic salsa bar and free pickled carrots, onions, and jalapeños.
Once more, if you think rice and beans belong in a burrito, you have terrible taste in Mexican food and probably grew up in Seattle.
Free salsa bar is authentically San Diegan, and they have all of the traditional drinks, like horchata.
This place is 5/5 stars and deserves a Michelin star. Guy Fieri should do an episode here. El jefe should be teaching a le cordon bleu Mexican class.
If you read this far, and still think that rice and beans belong in a burrito, please go to chipotle. You do not deserve this exquisite cuisine.
If you are from San Diego and are looking for a little taste of home, you will appreciate this place and it’s a lot easier than flying back home for a good burrito.
The reviews at other taco shops in Seattle are comical, and I cannot believe the poor taste in Mexican food and the overly generous yelp reviews from unqualified palates. No mames guey!!!!
If anyone rates this place less than five stars, they do not know what they are talking about, so please disregard their atrocious taste in food. Trust me, this place is amazing. I will give you a money...

A few weeks ago, I stopped in to get a burrito before the restaurant closed for the night. I ordered a "chicken burrito," paid $10, and took my food home. A couple bites in, I noticed that I was only tasting chicken - no beans, no rice, no nothing. I opened up the tortilla and found that, indeed, the ONLY thing inside was chicken! I was so hungry that I ate half of it, took a photo for reference, and threw the rest away. When I ordered a "chicken burrito," I expected to get everything that comes on a normal burrito - beans, rice, cheese, lettuce, salsa, etc.
Today, I went into the restaurant to tell them about my experience, with the hope that they would provide me with a better burrito. After explaining the situation, they told me, "That is what you get when you order a chicken burrito. Chicken only. If you want other ingredients, you need to say so." Of all of the Mexican restaurants that I have ever eaten at in my life, this is definitely a first. Nowhere on their menu does it say that you need to specify your ingredients. Luckily they understood that it was confusing, and agreed to make me a burrito on the house. Had they not made me another burrito, this review would...
Read moreUpdate June 2022: Stopped in and the food needs work (rolled tacos, carne asada burrito and watery hot sauce). Was it an outlier experience or has it reverted back similar to my original post from when they first opened - could be better?
I was so excited when I saw the restaurant sign “coming soon.” I’ll say that their food has gotten better over time. Being from San Diego, this place reminded me of home, even by the restaurant name. However, when I first ordered rolled tacos and super nachos here I didn’t think I’d ever come back (after trying 3 different times). And, their carne asada burrito was nothing like a San Diego style carne asada burrito like I had expected. Especially because I heard the owner is from SoCal. Fast forward at least a year, I’m ready to give this place a good review. Their food is so much better now! They offer a carne asada burrito reminiscent of San Diego, the super nachos have leveled up and the rolled tacos I’d say aren’t as good as in Cali (toppings taste different), but theirs has way more meat (and the price reflects this). Hot sauce is pretty good too. This is my 2nd go to place for San Diego style Mexican food staples (there’s only one other place in...
