Muncie Civic Theatre — Attraction in Muncie

I love the Muncie Civic Theatre because of their constant commitment to high-quality live theatre and their mission to be the theatre for the whole community of Muncie, Indiana! The productions are professional-quality, and the theatre itself is very well-run. In the MCT's authentically loving and accepting community, which feels more like a big, happy family, there truly is a place for everyone, and there is something for everyone – whether you enjoy being onstage or not! It also has a fantastic and rapidly growing Youth Education Theatre program where children of all ages can also perform in shows and learn more about the art of theatre in a fun, creative, supportive, and engaging environment! It is undoubtedly an essential artistic and cultural gem in this city because Muncie would not be Muncie without it. I would wholeheartedly recommend seeing a show at the Muncie Civic...

I have done many things here at Civic, from the acting to the tech to just sitting and enjoying the shows they do. It has many fun people, their all so kind, every once in a while you'll find a rude person, but that mostly never happens. I think what makes it so welcoming is how everyone who participates in the shows acts like a big family. All the shows are good in there own way. Not only is there main stage shows, there's also youth shows and a studio for smaller shows. It's like you do one show and youre apart of a family of around 500 people.... I think..... but its so far the only community theater thats its own thing. I would recommend every part about this place...

Went for the first time for Peter Pan this April. It was much smaller than I anticipated. On the one hand this makes it a very cozy and intimate setting. This was great for the interactive part of the play when pirates went into the audience to look for lost boys. However, it's not so great for social distancing (obviously it's a theatre). We sat a few rows in front of a man hacking up a lung for a good part of the show. Just something to note. Very warm and inviting space otherwise. Very clean and clean bathrooms too! Also loved that the concession...
