From out of town, we have visited here twice on Saturday evenings over the past year and have been very pleased both times. It is in downtown Muncie with primarily street parking from what I can tell, although there are some lots around also. When you enter, the indoor dining is to the left, with a bar separated off towards the front of the building and a mix of booths and tables to make up the primary dining space. To the right of the entrance, they appear to have outdoor dining for when the weather is pleasant.
The service is prompt in both attentiveness to the table and delivery of the meals. The chips are strong but don't have much flavor while the salsa is soupy and also not our favorite, but we still happily eat them.
They have a separate section on their menu devoted to vegetarians at very reasonable prices that we did on our previous visit (my wife tried the Chile Poblano ($11) and I did the Fajita Taco Salad ($11). This time we each decided to try the evening's special, the Burrito Bowl ($9) with shrimp (may have added $2, but I forgot to check the bill to verify). The bowl included rice, beans, cheese, guac, lettuce, and sour cream. We each said we would do it again.
Wish this place was closer to us, we would...
Read moreBad, just bad. Upon entering the restaurant during non-peak hours we were seated by a waitress who quickly ushered us in and then rushed us to place our orders after we said we needed a few minutes to look over the menu. I ordered Arroz con Pollo which was described as marinated chicken over rice with queso. What I was served can only be described as boiled half cooked chicken. It was so hard to chew that I had to send the food back, which I never do and ordered a quesadilla. The waitress overall was extremely rude and we could tell portions of our meals were microwaved, especially the queso. Halfway through our meal we noticed the photo above our table had an uncomfortable amount of dust and even a cobweb on it (see picture) which made us uncomfortable and some had gotten into our food. Overall, bad very bad. I really hope we caught them...
Read moreI’m not one to write nasty reviews because I’ve worked in food service and understand the struggles, however this place got to be the nastiest restaurant I’ve eaten at in quite some time. Our waiter came to our table a total of 3 times in a span of an hour, in fact my drink was never topped off the entire meal. The chips were probably the worst part of the meal, I can’t figure out how you mess up tortilla chips but they were probably some of the nastiest chips I’ve ever tasted, BLAND! The salsa was tomato juice, so that didn’t even help give the chips any flavor.
Onto my meal; I ordered tacos. Something I could make by the age of 10. The meat was FULL OF WATER, and had no seasoning. The ground beef was also not cooked all the way, and I’m so thankful I didn’t contract some kind of food poisoning from it.
