DO NOT GO HERE, IT IS WORN, TORN, AND DIRTY, AND FALLING APART, AND PROBABLY HAS BEDBUGS! Another person and I recently stayed here the 28th-30th of May. We booked the suite room on floor 5, room 133 expecting it to be meeting our highest expectations for Marriott, but that is not the case. Upon arrival, our air controls did not work, and our room stayed a constant 71 while set on 60 plus being on cool, not the mention the room is dull and is dirty and worn down compared to a REGULAR ROOM! View attached photos below. A wall had cigarette burns on it, a table was almost brittle to the touch with the amount of burns left on it, and TWO curtains had DOG PEE on them. Room service evidentially left the telephone cord hanging, and didn't bother to touch it. Scuff marks were present EVERYWHERE! I only took about 3-4 photos, couldn't be bothered to look at anymore, the sliding door is showing wear and damage and slightly bending the actual door frame, and cracking it, as well as the carpet around that is ripping. Me and my grandmother passed by another regular room, and it looks more CLEAN and PRESTIGOUS than our suite, what is this?? Another factor that this room adds cons to is the seating, we'd expect some decent seating, our long "loveseat" in the main sitting room BROKE DOWN, with STAPLES, WOOD, FABRIC and all coming from beneath it. My grandmother went with me, and this could've turned really bad if we had not sat up towards the front of the seat. To conclude, some factors such as not even having complimentary coffee downstairs in the lobby or any type of breakfast was known, for a 3 star hotel, but this does not add up to the Marriott expectations. Our trip to the bistro was fine, not noting the 7 dollar fruit cup with fruit from the LOCAL WALMART, and the yogurt and granola which was 8 bucks. Our only positive note was the kindness that the front desk showed when we arrived. Our stay was not enjoyable. I would definitely not recommend coming here, and just stay out of any type of Muncie hotel.

First room we had was COMPLETELY unacceptable. Walked into the bathroom right when we arrived and the floor was VERY sticky. Called the front desk and he said he would let someone know. 30 min went by, so I peeked my head out the door and saw a cleaning lady and flagged her down, she cleaned it and made some excuse that they were really busy with weddings and the crew must of not cleaned it. After it dried was still sticky, I PERSONALLY wiped it down. Then noticed what made it kept getting sticky was the carpet must of had stuff spilled on it, and also found Panda Express wrappers on the floor by the chair. For $200 a night because it's part of a wedding block, this is UNACCEPTABLE. For $200 a night i want a completely clean and sanitized room. I went down and demanded a different room. He moved us down the hall. I still had to clean the bathroom floor in this room. I'm not sure if the cleaning crew is using the same dang sticky mop or what. Over all this room was ok, still drives me nuts that I paying $200 a night and have to make sure things are clean myself. Noticed in the morning when i went to shower, the shower curtain was full of mold, and there was splattered stuff on the walls, and random black hairs all over. You know for a motel 8 at $60 a night this wouldn't be bad, but for a Marriott at $200+ a night this is completely unacceptable. Don't use the excuse of past weddings and being busy, if you don't have the manpower, then start hiring, or training your crew correctly. I'm tired of paying $150-$250 for rooms that look like the person before me partied and the crew just wiped down the room with the same dry towel just to move on to the next, for that money I expect a clean, MOLD free room.

Upon arrival I noticed the sign in the hallway stating that this was a teaching school. I was excited to experience this hotel. However that excitement quickly turned into disappointment. Upon walking into our room the first thing that I noticed was that there was no bed skirt covering the box spring. I have never stayed at a hotel with the box spring exposed. (Upon looking at the pictures posted by previous guests it appears that our room was overlooked when housekeeping did their inspections because other rooms showed a bed skirt on their box spring.) In the bathroom we were not given any soap. In addition the shower gel dispenser was ripped off of the wall and laying in the shower. I went down to the front desk for soap and upon my return to my room noticed how filthy the elevators were. The carpet had not been vacuumed and the mirrored doors and walls were hazy and dirty. Upon return to my room I also took notice to how dirty/dusty the carpet was around the perimeter of the room. Vacuums come with attachments. I suggest you use them. Overall the staff was friendly except for the girl at the Starbucks counter in the morning who clearly did not want to be working that day. The location is good. Overall this hotel should be ashamed. As a teaching school you should be setting an example of superior service and cleanliness. You have failed me.

It was just evident that whoever designed the room was laser-focused on providing a fantastic customer experience. And boy did they deliver! It was as if they knew every complaint I ever had about a hotel room and solved each problem one by one.

It started when I first opened the door and the temperature controls were right at my fingertips on the wall. With a couple of clicks the air was immediately adjusting to my comfort level. Two steps later I was standing in front of a low-level table surface just perfect for placing my suitcase so I could easily unpack. Next to that, a long desk with task lighting and multiple charging outlets on a shelf above, with a lip that insured my electronics could rest safely out of the way on the shelf while charging. Looking around the room I found a fridge and microwave tucked into a sleek closet with storage underneath for bags and shoes. Next to the window was a lounging sofa and ottoman with a tiny side table the perfect height for my drink and the remote (did I mention that the television on the wall could be swiveled to be seen anywhere in the room?)

The closet had a full length mirror on the front AND back of the swinging door. The iron could be plugged in multiple spots around the room in my choice of conveniently placed electrical outlets. And the bed - OH the bed! Lots of comfy pillows and built-in charging stations on BOTH side tables. An alarm clock that was just an alarm clock, nothing more. Twist the knob to set your wake-up time, then press the knob - the alarm was confidently set for the next morning with no guesswork.

On to the bathroom. Big, with lots of counter space for stashing my stuff. A large glass shower stall (no nasty shower curtain, and no bathtub; after all, who really takes baths in a hotel room bathtub ?!?) A bright ceiling light inside the shower so you can see what you're doing, and a shelf carved into the wall to place as many shampoos and scrubs as you like. A high shower head with good pressure and a little step/ledge to help with leg-shaving. Lots of white fluffy towels that dried in a flash. A magnifying mirror on the counter, and handy pegs to hold towels and clothing.

This hotel got it right. They listened to their clients, and devoted their resources to providing the ultimate customer experience at a reasonable price.

Only con was a train track in close proximity - I recommend you request a room away from the tracks or pack some earplugs. Not...

I wanted to like this hotel, as Marriott has been my preferred brand, and it was nice to have one in the area now for when I come back to my hometown. I will say, the hotel is incredibly clean, and most of the staff we encountered during our stay were helpful and professional. Our room was very comfortable, stylish, and clean. The first issue I had was when I called at 2pm and asked if my husband could go ahead and come check in. The clerk who answered the phone told me it would be fine. I clarified this by saying, “Ok, you’re sure, because he’ll be there in 10 minutes.” He said it would be fine. When My husband showed up, he was turned away, as they said he couldn’t check in until 4 and there were no rooms ready. He left and ironed his suit and got ready in the locker room of a local gym, as by this time, it was too late and we needed to be at a wedding in less than an hour (we’d driven up from Birmingham, AL that morning). When I checked into the hotel that evening, I spoke to a man who said he was the manager. I explained the issue and his rebuttal was a repeated, “Well, check in time is at 4pm.” I got tired of explaining that was never the issue in question. It was that we called first to ensure a room was ready, wasted our time and were almost late for a wedding, because I had called ahead and made sure a room was ready and was told it was. I got no where. The second issue, was that I called on Tuesday, after we had checked out on Sunday, and told the front desk clerk that I thought I had left an item in the room. She took my information and told me housekeeping would call me back within 48 hours. On Saturday, when I hadn’t received a call, I called again and left my information yet again. The man who answered the phone said, “They’re gone for the day, but they will call you back tomorrow.” Two days later, when I hadn’t received a call, I called on Monday and was transferred to the housekeeping manager’s voicemail. I left all my info on her voicemail, and never received a call back. A week later, I called again, asked for the housekeeping department, got her voicemail, and left another detailed message. That’s been 2 weeks ago and I haven’t called back. I spoke with two different employees, and left two detailed voicemails, so at 3 people were aware of the situation and still no one would address it. Thanksgiving week in Muncie has been booked at...

As an employee in F&B at a different hotel chain I cant even believe how horrible the breakfast service was on sunday morning. My husband and I waited in line for about 30 minutes to order. The lady at the register was less than friendly and had an attitude when guests would ask her a question. We ordered our food and drinks and were given a # to place on our table. Not exactly what for since the lady who was running food was auctioning off everything anyway. My husband and I waited over an hour for our breakfast that never came. The lady running food had even asked what we ordered at one point and claimed it would be out soon. It never showed up. There was no management around helping and there was an extreme lack of staff and friendliness. The lady behind the counter turned off the lights and ignored people that came up to the counter by 1030am even though the breakfast was supposed to be available until 11am. Knowing you have a bridal party block and they all have vouchers I cannot believe you would not have better staffing to accommodate. The grooms Niece and Nephew ordered dry cereal 10 minutes before we put our meal in and it took an hour for those kids to get DRY CEREAL, that I saw in packs behind the counter. I do not know if the breakfast voucher was included in our room rate or if the bride and groom were picking up the tab but no matter what it should not be paid for. IF it was tacked onto my room rate I want a refund immediately as I stated before I never even received my food! Housekeeping department was very friendly and sweet. They did not come clean our room but that was probably because the door hanger was not taken away until 4pm as that was when I left for the wedding. But when I did leave there were about three of the ladies that got on the elevator with me and other wedding guests and each one complimented us all on how beautiful we looked and told us to have fun! At least the housekeeping department has got hospitality down. Front desk was also friendly but did not interact more than check in. I hope no one has to experience the lack of service your F&B team provided last Sunday! I feel bad for the bride and groom who had to walk around and see their guests were not getting served and that the employees didn't really...
