Great place for a bike ride, roller blading, or walking with the trail being paved most of the way. PROs: VIEWS: Most of the trail is along the water. There are stunning views everywhere. FACILITIES: Trash cans are along the walk. The facilities, near the parking lot, offer pet potty pick-up bags. There is an abundance of picnic tables in the sun and covered. There are water fountains, but it requires a whole hand push to turn them on. TERRAIN: Some of the trail is flat from the parking lot in either direction, but beyond that, there is some hilly terrain. CANOEs: There is a place to put your canoes in the water. HANDICAP PARKing: They have handicapped parking where the shaded part of the trail begins. As a senior, I appreciate less time in the sun and more time in the shade. BOOK TRADE: They have a bookbox where you can pick up a book or leave one. I love any effort that encourages reading, so this is cool. BIKE KIOSK: They have a little kiosk to put air in your tires or make miner adjustments. There's also a place to park your bike (and lock your bike up if you brought your own chain and lock). INFO KIOSK: There is a kiosk with a map of the park showing the path as well as free doggie poop pickup bags and the park's magazine (covering a period of two months communicating park events in Summit County). CONs: GOLD COURSE: Part of the trail runs along a golf course, so just watch for golf balls or carts flying by. TRAFFIC: The road running beside the park has a lot of traffic. You'll have to be patient getting out. If there's high water and you have to cross the road to get to the path on the other side, you might want to proceed with care. Also, just down the road are train tracks, so traffic kind of gets backed up when it passes - have a full tank of gas so you don't run out waiting for a train to pass. HIGH WATER: Taking the trail under the road can be a little treacherous if the water's high since that part of the path floods. This path that bypasses the road is steep on either side. I'm a little older, so I walk my bike through this part of the path until I get to...

Read moreA lovely spot along the Hike & Bike trail! The park itself has a nice launch ramp for kayaks or float tubes into the river, an information kiosk, a few picnic tables and benches, a water fountain, and a spacious, CLEAN restroom. I've been surprised a few times by large spiders guarding toilet paper rolls, but this bathroom is generally clean, and even has a flush toilet. Seems ADA accessable as well. I've visited in the summer, but the going in the fall is even better! Continue a bit down the paved H&B trail, along the river to get some of the beautiful sights I've captured here. Despite chilly weather, it's tough to get tired of the...
