If you haven't been to this wonderful restaurant, what the heck are you waiting for?? 😀
My fiancé had his very first Indian meal here and ate every bit of his food plus some of mine that I was too full to finish. I've had Indian food many times, and I loved these recipes so so much more here than at just about anywhere else I've tried, and I've tried a good number of tasty Indian dishes before. :)
Our servers were wonderful and friendly and welcoming and didn't rush us at all while my fiancé got familiar with all of the menu items..also taking the time to explain and answer many questions.
After we finished eating, we had the absolute pleasure of chatting with the owner and recipe-creator for quite a while when he came to our table to see how we liked our meals. I mean, he feels like part of my family now, not gonna lie!
EVERYTHING is made in-house (except for the obligatory chicken nuggets and fries present on the kid menu that some parents might feel their kids can't live without for one meal, sigh...but thankfully there ARE also kid-portions of a few of the house-made Indian dishes on the kid menu that you realllllly shouldn't deprive your kids of trying!!! Ok, rant over, lol.) here ♥️...cheese, sauces, chutneys, desserts, everything!
Heat level can be specified when your order is placed...and you can specify zero (American zero, not Indian zero) heat all the way up to Indian hot. I am a wimp, so I went with American zero heat for my dish, but I also happily learned through a taste of the delicious mint chutney that my wimpy self can handle low-medium..which is you can feel a little warmth but it doesn't hurt your mouth or throat at all. My fiancé got mild heat for his dish but felt he might venture up to medium next time.
And you betcha there will be many next times!!
Portions were generous, and, given the high quality ingredients and recipes you are treated to, pricing was reasonable.
It sounds like they are hopping busy for dinner so reservations are likely wise. We went for an early lunch and had no wait at all.
Free papodoms (I usually don't like papodoms much, but I loved these!) with tamarind chutney and mint chutney. We also had: ...Me: chicken makhani/butter chicken and the chicken was TENDERRRRR!, garlic naan, water with lemon ...Fiancé: lamb khara masala/bhuna (comes with basmati rice), Indian brew coffee, water ...Dessert was rasmalai / a flattened ball of house-made milk cheese sweetened with a milk and nut sauce
NOTE: There is no free refill for coffee ($3/small mug), which is probably the only negative...that being said, it was excellent coffee.
Imma try the tandoori chicken, or the mango chicken, or ???, next...
Read more10/10 FANTASTIC!!! This is THE BEST Indian restaurant I’ve gone to in the falls and Akron! It is my child’s favorite restaurant and we adore the food here. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, the owner is very sweet and hospitable. Today we went for my child’s birthday and we mentioned it offhandedly before we left, not expecting anything, and the owner came out smiling with free deserts for us all while singing happy birthday and changing the TV to have a sweet birthday message for us. They are so very sweet and the atmosphere is very comfortable! Their food is very rich with flavor and their spices are perfect. They have a great scale of heat-level so if you can’t handle spicy foods very well then you don’t have to worry about that here! Their naan is to die for, personally the garlic and cheese naans are our go-to! We also would recommend their butter chicken, and tikka masala for if you want something creamy, smooth and flavor-packed. The chicken vindaloo has a very deep rich flavor and you can taste all of the spices and herbs that go into it. The gobi Manchurian is absolutely to die for, we CANNOT come here without getting it, it’s very creative and delicious, highly recommended to everyone to try it at least once! The chilly chicken is very tasty as well. The Bonda is a nice appetizer and it pairs great with the sauces they come with. Their curry sauces are all thick and smooth delicious, other places we’ve tried it has been very watery but here it’s PERFECT. If you’re looking for great Indian food than this is a must-try! Even if you’re not in the area I’d say it’s well...
Read moreThe 4.9 rating on Google Reviews is fully justified, my curiosity (to confirm or demolish the hype) paid off very well; over multiple take-out orders (yes, all take out + 1 dine-in over a year ago) covering a range of vegetarian offerings.
Their taste profile is spot-on in terms of flavors and aroma. To name a few, the ‘Saffron Malai Kofta’ comes with saffron dressing (pic - for someone accustomed to saffron in desserts like Kheer, Halwa, Ras Malai et. al., needed the acquired taste of saffron in entree to kick in, it did), Tadka Dal has a welcome zing and Paneer Ananda is the best of all; worth coming back for. Veg Pakora came at 8 pieces (pic) against 7 in menu, and tasty (bit cold, though – inclined to give benefit of doubt as this was a take-out order); accompanying tamarind & onion chutneys just rendered the chaat masala superfluous. The Lachha Paratha (pic) is an enjoyable, flaky bundle.
On the breads side, with only one Bhatura, Chhole Bhature appears to be at a higher price point (is the Bhatura really big?). Service is exceptionally cultured, amicable and warm. Found Praneet a very affable host.
For those who want to dine-in, there's seating for 32 (expandable by ~10), with a table each for groups of 6 & 8. I’ve tried take-out at a number of restaurants in 15-mile radius of Spice Delight (located in a non-descript Munroe Falls strip) and this shines as the best of breed, way above the washed up stuff some outlets in same catchment area are passing off as authentic Indian. Lives up to the...
